A Lifesaver for all vegan/vegetarian foodies!!! – Spork is simply terrific!!! I have been desperate to find cooking classes in LA that don't use animal ingredients and sadly it is close to impossible-until now. My husband knew how frustrated I was looking for vegan cooking classes in Los Angeles so he surprised me with 3 classes from Spork for my birthday! He even attended 2 of them with me. Chef/owner Jenny and her sister Heather have the perfect setting for class instruction. They keep it small and intimate and every seat has a perfect view of Jenny as she preps and cooks. Jenny is warm and friendly and most importantly an extremely competent and skilled chef in the art of vegan cooking and baking. Every step is explained and there was no question in my mind that I couldn't make these items at home. My first class was the dessert basket class back in December where we learned how to make an assortment of baked goods for the holidays including pumpkin cupcakes with cream cheese frosting, the creamiest chocolate mousse ever and a Pecan Fig and Sage Shortbread Cookie Dipped in chocolate-pure bliss. I had to stop eating those or there would be nothing left for the rest of the class. They melt in your mouth.

My husband and I also took the Mexican Fiesta and the Valentines Couple class together and had a blast. I love that the classes are offered at 11:00 and 4:00 on Sat and Sunday so we took one on Sat at 4:00 and it was the best date we've had in years! And we get to have a sit down meal after class!!! One of the items on the Mexican Fiesta menu included butternut squash and spinach enchiladas. I made them the following weekend for some friends and was thrilled that they came out "spot on" perfect just as Jenny had made them, which I was grateful for because I didn't have time to do a "test run". Highly recommended!

These sisters rock! – I was warmly greeted by the Goldberg sisters, Heather and Jenny. Jenny teaches and Heather assists. Jenny couldn?t be a more delightful teacher about the joy of vegan cooking. She enthusiastically shares her vast knowledge of the important health benefits of the ingredients she uses in her dishes. Her kitchen is filled with natural light from all the windows with lovely views out of all of them and is well-suited for a small group of students to watch or partake in the food preparation. After all the dishes were made, we were treated to a lovely sit-down lunch in their charming dining room. The food was delicious, and I would definitely take another class from them.
