The greatest haircut, the greatest stylist – David has been my hairdresser/stylist for about 17 years. You will also find yourself travelling for an apppointment with Dave. He is the most creative, innovative, fun to be around stylist you will ever come across. You would be making the biggest mistake if you don't give him an opportunity to make your handsome(men) and most beautiful(girls/women) side shine through. He has done some incredible things with all types of girls/women that take them to the next level in the way they see themselves, and the way others start to see them. He's got the gift. David will not only make you look at your best, you will feel that you are truly "the best". Everyone should experience what Meringue and David have to offer to everyone.

This was the worst experience I have ever encountered at any salon! David, the owner, made me wait almost 50 minutes while he was running behind. He never apologized or was conscious of my time. While I was sitting there I could not believe what was taking place around me. He was talking about people in the most distasteful way. “She’s so fat”, “he’s a big queen” were only some of what I heard. I was extremely uncomfortable and wanted to just run out the door…and I should have. Finally he was ready to cut my hair. I told him that I wanted to keep the same style but it needed to be shaped. While he was cutting my hair he was running back to another customer checking her color and texting. The fact that he was stopping and starting my hair cut made me very apprehensive. What I asked for and what I received were two very different things. He chopped layers all through my hair and one side was clearly shorter than the other. I tried to explain but he kept insisting that he did what I asked him to do. This man was extremely unreasonable and the only thing that made sense was to get out of there quick. The fact that he was gossiping, running very late, texting and working with more than one client seemed to have no bearing on his ability to do his job…what a joke! The man is rude immature, unprofessional and incompetent. This is a service oriented industry and what I experienced was the complete opposite. The hair cut was not what I wanted and it cost me $70.00!

Wonderful, WONDERFUL!!! – LOVE, LOVE, LOVE David! After reading several favorable reviews on this site, I made an appointment for a consultation, color and cut. First, David is extremely personable, and the environment at Meringue is very relaxed. David has created the perfect mix of quirk and fun in the salon. Second, the MINUTE he touched my hair, I KNEW he is someone who really knows hair. I am extremely pleased with the color and highlights--it looks so natural, but snazzy. My haircut is fabulous--without me even saying what I hated about my previous style, David recognized precisely those points (i.e. multiple weird layers, general imbalance in the style) and corrected them with a zen-like precision and attention to detail. Everyone has complimented me on my new look, and I am thrilled. If you are ready to invest in a quality hair styling professional and in yourself, there should be but one salon name and number in your contact list (Meringue) and one pair of extraordinarily talented hands on your head (David's)!! Start dialing and make an appointment!!

Quite satisfied leaving Meringue. – Really enjoyed Dave's company and advisement in what i should do with and how i should treat my hair. Having avoided salons for almost 2 years now, i went in from my girlfriends persistent attitude that David could fix up my hair.

Within the moments i met Dave i could tell the man was chill and knew exactly what he was doing.

It took no time at all for him to redo my hair into something i had never imagined. One thing David suggested for my hair when leaving was a product called "The Keritan Treatment" i went ahead with it and my hair has never felt so smooth!

Overall, this was a really good experience and advise anyone to give Dave's shop a shot.

Great, Casual Atmosphere, and Terrific Cut! – Good Conversation, Great Service and Awesome Haircut - I have never spent this much on a haircut before and I was a bit skeptical. David didn't take offense when I questioned him on his ability and experience for the amount of money charged. I hadn't had my haircut in several months because the cuts I get in the Cape May area are to be frank... Miserable! I was willing to spend a little extra to get a good cut for a change and after David took care of me I will never go anywhere else as long as I am within driving distance of Philadelphia. Yes, it is a 1 hour and 45 minute drive from Cape May, but it is worth it!

Love Love Love! – David has a gift that anyone should experience. initially i scheduled an appointment for just a touch up to my roots. But David suggested a quick cut to liven up my hair. Best decision i've made in a while and well priced compared to other salons in the city! Couldn't be happier when leaving. Thanks again Dave!

Philly's Finest! – I absolutely love this salon. After going with my friend a previous time, i recently looked up the salon for a coloring and cut. David has a great atmosphere and really knows what he's doing! Great conversations and a more than satisfied new look. Customer for life :)

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE- TOTAL WASTE OF $ – HORRIBLE experience at this salon. overpaid for a terrible blow out before a big friday night event. i told David exactly what i wanted done and he made my hair look awful. i paid 45 $ plus tip (which i should have skipped completely) for a terrible blow out. he was runnign 40 mins behind schedule and didnt even apologize for making me wait. he made me late for the rest of my evening. he kept telling me how great he was at cutting hair and how he gives a phenomenal cut and how his customers come from all over the east coast. well ,i dont care, this guy cant do a blow out to save his life. a beginner at beauty school could have done better. my hair was flat, frizzy, greasy looking and stringy. he soaked my shirt during the hairwash and left me in the shampoo bowl while he went to the bathroom and out for a smoke. i was FURIOUS! biggest waste of money ever! please go elsewhere for a blow out.

Perfection..... – From the moment i stepped into the salon i was taken in by the positive energy and relaxing environment, also known as Meringue Salon. David sat me down and did more than i could have ever imagined possible with my hair and had me leaving a satisfied customer. At first, reading through some the lower rated reviews, i was skeptical if i should have gone. But after the response from family and friends of my new hair and my own impressions blown out of the water, Davids highly skilled scissoring techniques are incorrigible, at best.

Customer for life.
