Meat heaven – Great presentation of meats and great service! High quality all the time, and a large selection of traditional Brazilian sides. The bacon-wrapped filet mignon is my favorite!
Decent Brazilian steak house – I guess Rei Do Gado is the best Brazilian steak house I've been to in San Diego, but the pool is limited. The food is average to above average for Brazilian steak houses in Southern California. The food does not compare to Brazilian steak houses in Brazil. If you've never been to a Brazilian steak house, it's worth giving this one a try.

Located across the street from Horton Plaza, this Brazilian restaurant specializes in churrasco-style meats roasted over a mesquite flame and served on giant skewers. Attentive servers roam the dining room carving a selection of more than 10 different meats tableside for eager diners who also have unlimited access to a buffet table laden with appetizers, salads, seafood and hot side dishes. Meats include generous servings of filet mignon, tri-tip, turkey breast, baby back ribs and lamb. For those who have room, the dessert tray offers chocolate ganache, flan and passion fruit mousse.
Brazilian at its BEST! – We vacationed this last week in Downtown San Diego (Gas Lamp Square). The Concierge at our Hotel recommended Rei Do Gado and boy was it awesome! My wife and I had never eaten Brazilian food. The salad bar was perfect, the meats where so full of flavor and tender. The service and food was impeccable. The piano player was playing some light classical. The atmosphere was perfect! It was a night to remember.
Great Brazilian steakhouse. – Great food, huge selection of meats. For vegitarians there is a salad bar; and they also offer a selection of seafood at the buffet. Priced OK, and worth it.

Guests catch a glimpse of succulent meats rotating over the mesquite fire in the kitchen, even before the smell wafts into the dining room. The buffet includes a bountiful salad and side dish bar loaded with marinated veggies, eggplant casserole, soups and other delights, but meat is clearly the star of the show. Waiters carve more than 10 different skewered meats tableside, as guests signal them to "go" or "stop" by using a colorful two-sided chip.
