This was such a fabulous lunch! Loved that the napkins, plates, and utensils were reclaimed and for sale. Try the marshmellow soup...a-maze-ing!!! I had the crab souffle and it rocked.
great souffles. Long wait for a table and menu is a bit limited, but this is a specialty restaurant for souffles.
Great Meal......Wish the Service Lived Up To The Food! – My family loves souffles and these did not disappoint. They entrees perfectly prepared and I certainly would go back, especially for the Marshmallow Soup. To die for. We found the chocolate souffle to not be sweet at all. Since everything is made to order, I am wondering if they didn't put in sugar? Why am I not giving it a higher review? The service/experience.
We arrived and were told there was a 30 minute wait. That is fine. A party our size walks in 5 minutes behind us and it is obvious they are regulars. They ask if there is a table for 4 available and they were seated right away. I know a lot of restaurants do this to keep their regulars happy, but it is a practice I do not care for. The fact is, just because it is my first time, I could be a regular in the making, so don't treat me like a second class citizen.
I also didn't care for the fact that when they tell you the specials, they do not tell you the price. Some of their specials (crab souffle, lobster souffle, etc) are significantly higher than what is regularly on the menu. So, be careful.
Lastly, I felt I was being sold to the entire time. From the VERY strong encouragement to buy appetizers, to informing us several times that everything there (from the glasses to the chandelier) is for sale, to describing every plate, glass and book we could see (hoping we would buy it), I felt like I was eating dinner in a high pressure sales environment. This restaurant is NOT cheap.....dinner for 2 adults and 2 kids was $150 with tip and we had NO alcohol......and I don't want to feel pressured to spend more. Quite frankly, for a high end restaurant with even higher end prices, it is a very tacky practice.
Would I go back? Most likely, because the food was wonderful. I would just tell the server from the beginning to not do the whole sales spiel.
Excellent! Simply Excellent – Where have you been hiding! Rise is truly a hidden gem in Dallas. Well known for their souffle, Rise is the perfect option if you want to eat healthy while also have an amazing meal! The restaurant provides all of their dietary information for each meal. Which is a nice aspect if you are looking to eat "healthy". The restaurant reminds of the "Low Fat Yogurt" episode on Seinfeld. Seriously, how can anything this good...be healthy? I don't know how they do it...but it's so good!
Any of there souffle entrees is a surefire winner. Also, get their strawberry souffle dessert. "Incredible" is the only word to describe it. And if you are really hungry, remember to get the artichoke and/or the gazpacho as appetizers. Couple that with their bread...you will have an amazing meal! Rise...fast becoming one of our favorites in Dallas.
Wonderful Salad! – I've been a couple times and it's been nice, albeit very expensive for a salad and small fluffy souffle. Everything was nice but the Rise Salad was exceptional! Everything is for sale there and I'm hoping the salad dressing is too! I'll definitely be back to find out.
pleasant spot – I've been a dozen times, and I'll probably go dozens more. They have done a lovely job with this restaurant. The setting and the food are extremely enjoyable. I know souffles are the main draw, but the rise salad with chicken is probably my favorite entree. I wish I could cook like that.
Perfect for a special occasion – Rise is not for a frugal night out, but if you don't mind spending a little extra for a special occasion, or just because you deserve it, then this is it! The cheeses alone were enough to bring me back. Service was impeccable, the wild mushroom souffle was absolutely to die for, and the ambiance is quite nice.
Souffles are back in demand and this charming French bistro in Inwood Village rises to the occasion. – The Scene
A red wall library of classics, poetry and cookbooks introduce guests to an intimate dining area lit by a lantern of recycled wine bottles. Tables are dressed with eclectic flatware and embroidered linens from the farmhouses and maisons of France. Plates shaped as color palettes, are made of recycled beach glass. Birch branches enclose a semi-private dining area with a converted school desk from the 18th century with ink wells serving as flower vases. All guests receive a note with a poignant quote before departure.
Cooked to fluffy perfection, dinner souffles are the main attraction with options such as truffle infused wild mushroom and jambon and gruyere. Brie and cornichon baguette, steak and French onion soup are also menu picks. Wine flights complement the cuisine and grant a saucy excuse for a long romantic lunch. Savor a chocolate or cassis souffle with one of their poem books for a poetic ending.
Hits: Ambiance is literally imported from the chateaux, manoirs and farmhouses of Southwest France which grants and authentic bistro experience.
Misses: Intimate tables allow you to become familiar with your guest but not without the distraction of the surrounding conversations.
