The most racist staff and management we have ever seen. We noticed that only white people were welcomed and treated properly. When we tried to bring that to the attention of management, managers AND owners reacted in an extremely rude manner. There's also only one bathroom. Staff members use it for almost 30 minutes at a time while guests wait at the door. Pretty ridiculous!

Only positive experiences – I'm sorry about the bad experience at VV written by HGuilderson. I’ve gone into stores and restaurants and felt like I was not the desired clientele. It's an awful feeling. Having had several experiences with VV and the owners, I would like to offer an alternate interpretation for consideration. Danny V is not really a talker unless he knows you. I remember sitting at the bar at Zon's and feeling the challenge of getting him to talk with me. The night I brought a neighbor of his, he started conversing! I'm thinking you saw him and his wife talking to people they knew. They’re well known from Zon's. Most people, who go to VV are regulars. That said, it’s essential to treat people with respect. Providing service in a restaurant was the most emotionally difficult job I’ve had but they could’ve done better and I hope, if you give it another try, they’ll prove equal to the job.

Oh well... – Just had a disappointingly racial experience there. My wife and I, who are both African American, came in without a reservation. We were told to do so by the male Vee (half of the co-owning couple who's last name ends in V) on the phone when I called to make a reservation, but was told none were available for the time I wanted. When we got there, at the time we requested, we were greeted by the waitress who asked if we had a reservation, we said no, to which the hovering female Vee responded to the waitress, "Just put them there", without any greeting. Our meal came and our food was great, but we then watched the female Vee greet every customer and male Vee check in at each table and make small talk with everyone BUT us. The place is so small that you have to make an effort not to talk, which the Vees did. We are both educated professionals who were dressed appropriately and were completely reserved in demeanor whereas other patrons in high top Converse sneakers were smiling and chatting it up with Mr. Vee. We definitely don't need the Vees chit chat or approval, but we didn't need them to be so obvious with their biases. I'm sure its a great restaurant if you're white. How sad.

Housed in the former Cha Fahn space, this bistro treats Jamaica Plain residents to mid-priced, modern American food. – In Short
Fresh seafood, vegetables, and grains are the stars at Vee Vee. Simple furnishings and décor create a warm, intimate atmosphere well-suited to the organic wines, craft beers, and seasonal ingredients featured on the menu. Reasonably priced and vegetarian-friendly, menu highlights include wild mushroom pate, quinoa pancakes with spaghetti squash and escarole, and cornmeal-crusted skate wing with sunchoke puree. Desserts such as espresso crème brulee are equally fresh and modern, the defining elements of this diminutive neighborhood restaurant.
