Fabulous Lunch!!! – Peasant Bistro is my new favorite lunch haunt. The quality and presentation of the food is superb! I've been no less than 6 times since the summer when I first discovered it and all my meals have all been consistently excellent. I've had the fried green tomatoes, salmon with cream curry sauce/rice as well as butternut squash soup and the list goes on..... ! Service is great and the dining rooms are elegant. Prices range from $8.00- to around $16.00.Highly recommend....and I'm picky!
Relaxing Ambience with Great food -- the best restaurant combination – This is the restaurant you will return to and send your friends to! Try the Butternut Squash Lasagne for lunch, the pumpkin ravioli for dinner -- but my first choice for dinner or for one of their famous "small plates" in the bistro is the Short Ribs. They melt in your mouth. The small plates are perfect for Jazz Thursday with $4 Orzel Vodka Cocktails. My favorite table in the dining area is by the window overlooking Centennial Olympic Park. I've been there several times and recommend it highly. Enjoy!
Best French onion soup I've ever had. – Wonderful food, we came during a slow time (2 pm Thursday) and received excellent service. There were quite a few unique food selections. I had a duck raviolli and my wife had fried green tomatos with goat cheese. I plan on coming back to Peasant Bistro when we are in Atlanta again.
Another Superb Peasant Restaurant – Wow! There are just so many good things to say I'm not sure of where to start. The food is excellent. I live nearby and eat there quite often. The french onion soup is still one of the best I've ever had. Wonderful fried green tomatoes. And if you like mussels try the ones in the garlic and cream sauce. Hey, some garlic mussels and bread; what more could you ask for. For salads I like the beet salad. For old time peasant fans you'll be happy to know that the house wedge has the creamy mustard dressing from Pleasant Peasant on it. For lunch try the steak sandwich with a horseradish and chive havati on it, or the great peasant crab cakes or shrimp and grits. For dinner I love the tuna tartare to start with. For an entree I'm always torn between the scallops and tuna for seafood and braised short ribs and lamb for meat. If you like to try some thing different try the lamb tagine. It's a Moroccan style dish. Its got some great spice to it without being spicy hot.
The interior or the restaurant is a breath of fresh air. It's elegant in it's simplicity. It has a wonderful grand stair case and I love the touch of wrought iron.. The place is a lot larger than it feels. There are several private dinning rooms that you can't see from the main dining room as well as a patio that is comfortable during the spring.
The current owners of Peasant bisto continue with the peasant tradition of good food, good service, good portions at a reasonable price for you and me. Since I eat there all the time I see the stay bend over backwards for all kinds of people. They never hesitate to try and accommodate someone if they can even if the person isn't the nicest of people. And if you're a regular, nice, and treat them right the world is yours. Believe you me. Service is alive and well at the Peasant bistro. So if you want to go somewhere that you will be appreciated, go downtown to the Peasant bistro. There is convenient $5 valet at the front door.
Good food, great service – A spinoff of the Pleasant Peasant, I was impressed by this new restaurant. The food is great and and the service is fabulous. The scallops were particularly good. I will defenitely be back
Not Good – I had lunch here a few weeks ago, and I've got to say it was so disappointing. The food really is just not that good - it's just OK / kinda bad, and you can get much better at many other Atlanta restaurants. My salad was limp, the salmon was greasy, and price was high.

This bistro gives off more of a charm-laced, southern home vibe with its dramatic staircase and perched balcony seating. The French-influenced menu is nothing short of decadent, so skip the salad-y crab tower and order with gusto. Braised pork belly arrives soft and tender, like prime rib fat cooked in butter. Legendary French onion soup is the same from its sister restaurants, with a gargantuan layer of swiss riming the top. A marble-y gut bomb, the bone-in, barrel cut ribeye packs mouth-watering flavor even without the béarnaise accompaniment. Use an array of elegant cocktails and playful desserts to provide a light touch to the ultra-rich experience.

Exquisite food, incredible cocktails, the NEW hot spot in Atlanta – The Peasant Bistro is wonderful. Great food, a stellar cocktail list including Pisco Sours (finally!!!!) and an inviting ambiance combine to make this the new hot spot for Atlanta. The restaurant has 2 levels each with its own bar and the interior is well appointed. The staff are polite and knowledgeable and there is a real emphasis on cocktail mixology.
My recommendation, go for the food, stay for the cocktails and return to introduce your friends!
An Atlanta Original Gives Birth To A Bistro Winner! – Back in the early 1970's, three friends, Richard Dailey, Bob Amick, and Steve Nygren, brought to Alanta, an original, The Pleasant Peasant. All three owners were working the floor as waiters, and us early Midtown pioneers, found a dining home. It was the place. Now fast forward, new owners, The Peasant has given birth to a Bistro. Not just any bistro, one thats on the Olympic Park, with windows looking out to the lawn. A completely different vibe, but an old friend, in new clothing. We've all grown up, and this Peasant off-spring is no exception. The classic Onion Soup still reigns, and when is the last time you've had a great version? Classic NY strip with Cognac Sauce is still our fave. Have a nice bottle of wine, and afterwards stroll thru the park. An Atlanta original for the rebirth of Downtown.
