Memorable – My partner and I held our commitment celebration at Deity on Friday, September 3rd 2010. We hosted a party of approximately 55 guests, dining between 8pm and 11pm at the Supperclub and dancing thereafter at the Underground.

The owners, Caio and Kristine, as well as their staff were professional yet personable and very accommodating. Our event ran seamlessly and everyone left feeling like they experienced a part of Brooklyn nightlife that is typically associated with Manhattan’s upscale night spots.

Breathtaking architecture and dramatic interior aside, this place has positive vibrations for sure. Lovers of old school hip hop, reggae, and R&B hits of yesteryear would have appreciated the DJs spinning that night. They were digging in the crates…think Pharcyde, Stevie Wonder, Biggie, Next, Lil’ Vicious…and the list goes on!

Above all else, this is definitely a spot to introduce non-Brooklynites who want to get a feel of what Brooklyn truly encompasses. The Brooklyn fare is dinner sized and reasonably priced as well as the drinks. They offer an unbeatable quote for food, service, drinks, venue use, and VIP access that allowed us to not only feed 55 people but also have our guests enjoy open bar the night through.

This place isn’t about draining your funds or charging up your credit card. No surprises here! It was a pleasure doing business with Caio and Kristine and I highly recommend their establishment without any reservations.

Deity is a true, true gem. The atmosphere is fun, outgoing, and friendly. All in all, it was the perfect club/lounge experience. They have the best DJ's! Not only did I get to hear tunes that I hoped but got to step outside my Top 40 Hits comfort zone: P.S. I have sampled half their cocktail menu, and all of the selections (several of which were recommended by the owner) were delicious.

Higher Drink Prices for BLKs – I went to diety and had a horrible experience. I order the same drink from 3 diff bartenders and paid 3 different prices. When I asked about it, they told me that $3 in gratituty was added to my bill, even if I ordered only 1 drink. I told him it was illegal to do that to groups smaller than 5.

Depending on who you are, the bartender decides whether or not to raise the price. I guess it’s their own form of gentrification. There’s lots of better bars in Brooklyn that value and respect their customers

I'd give it a 5 on a scale from 1 to 10 – First time to this place. It was ok. It is true, the outside does look like a synagogue but thats because it used to be a synagogue....hence the name. It was not a very diversified crowd and the music was all hip hop and reggae...but the people at the door were great, the bartenders were great and the patrons all were very friendly. Maybe would go again....but wouldnt say that i'd never go again.

Totally did not to expect to have that much dang fun! – Right now its 4am on a Sunday morning. And I just returned from this place. OMFG I love this place. I spent the first hour or so in the up stairs, chill, sheik bar area. Which they are right would be considered very romantic. They had a god drink special. But omg down stairs the BEST 2 DJs on the set. and me and my 2 friends could not stop dancing, my short sleeve sweater dress is proudly soaked. I smell like sweat. and proud of it. WE are going back next Saturday for sure.

A Work of Art – This is a great place for a drink. It is romantic and relaxing. The drinks are amazing and well worth the cost.

They use fresh fruit and not frozen concoctions for the signiture drinks. I love the fact that it seems like a hidden oasis when you first enter. It is a large space so when we went which was a weekday it was pretty empty, I was told there is a dj and dancing on the weekend. It would be nice to have a good spot to go dancing in BK. The staff is very polite nd helpful. This place should be on everyone's must see list.

Does not fit the neighborhood – They should have called this place "Ostentatious." I don't think it will succeed in laid-back Brooklyn.

Best 1st Date/Drink place EVER! – The atmosphere is perfect for that 1st date drink where you just want to sit and chat while having a cocktail. The setting is very romantic and the mood is very chill. The music playing is enough that you can still sit there and have a conversation without having to yell. There is an upstairs bar/lounge and a downstairs lounge/dance area with bars on both floors.

The place is beautifully decorated and artfully lit. Very chic/trendy/sexy atmosphere. The Orange Mimosa is awesome.

Definitely will be hitting this place up often.

Gay on Sundays – Just happened to see this place listed in Time Out. It's gay on Sundays. Wonder how they're gonna do. I am going this Sunday and will let you know.

Citysearch Editorial Review – With a plush banquette area punctuated by couples' nooks and hollowed, ice-filled tables, this former synagogue makes for one classy drinking spot. The religious motif is preserved with back-lit, goddess-themed stained glass and a huge Star of David-shaped light fixture. Still, the imagery is more plucky than disrespectful. With the addition of its Supperclub, Deity has become an all-in-one destination, serving up gourmet dinners to the neighborhood crowd and unstoppable dance parties downstairs for the go-all-nighters. An ambitious drink menu boasts 40 beers, 400 wines and dozens of specialty cocktails like the Brooklyn Rose (made with gin, Domaine de Canton ginger liqueur, St Germain elderflower liqueur, rose flower water and orange flower water). From Salsa Wednesdays to big-name DJ nights on the weekends, Deity offers something for everyone.
