Just Ok food, female server was great – We had a 8 top on a Sunday night as we heard it was " All You Can Eat" for $10.95 as they build there Sunday crowd. That in itself scared me but my buds picked the place. Our server was very honest and very good though I did not catch her name but she was a younger white female.
The rice was the WORST sushi rice I have ever had. Undercooked rice with no seasoning or flavor made the fish hard to eat. Shee xplained you order as much as you want and anything left you pay for. With undercooked rice its hard to eat sushi.
The rolls were all fairly good the crawfish being my favorite. The salmon quality was good but the tuna not fresh. Loved the spicy edaname and the caffine free root beer as I cant dink.
With two of us, tow glasses of plum wine for my partner ( sweet but nice), my soft drink and edaname it was $52 so not as cheap as we thought and they did add a 15% grat as there was 8 of us with seperate checks.
Decoration was nice but have too say having a kid run around and go in and out of the kitchen was not cool. The male server we called attitude boy, shorts falling down, backwards baseball cap then no cap and I guess hes the owners son as he has no place being here. Note to the owner, want to stay in business know people watch everything. He made faces and was none to happy to be there.
As it got more busy food did not come out and when it did some took 45 minutes. Soup? Yup after 45 minutes we canceled it though our server was very honest and said they got backed up but if you want to build a eresyaurant staff it and by all means fix the rice this should be a fixture.
Cahnces I go back? None
ok food....terrible service – I have been to some bad places before but never so bad that I was motivated to write the review while still AT the restaurant.
the night started off wrong when I mention to a manager that there were no paper towels in the bathroom.... she literally turned the other way and started wiping the table. the she acted rude when I said excuse me and mentioned it again.
the waiter was drunk or high.... he kept dropping things off the table or broke plates... that is if he was around to give is service. more than half the time we had to go to the bar to get our own drinks.
the manager was dismissive and rude. we told the waiter we were vegetarian but he knowingly served us sauce that had fish oil in it.
when we tried talking to the manager about our poor experience she was defensive and simply said "oh well". no offer of apology or even feigning the slightest remorse.
We were at the table for at least 15 minutes after we finished eating but our food was not cleared from the table.
the apps were good but the main course was bland. we had buddha rolls firefly rolls (crispy tofu instead of meat) and crispy tofu. for mains we had pad thai , yellow noodles and yellow curry (all with tofu instead of meat). the pad thai was by far the worst I have ever had..tasted like onions instead of peanuts. the yellow noodles were just bland period.
Dim lighting and good music make for overall good ambiance.
All you can eat could be a trap – Maybe 2 1/2. I went there last Sunday for the all you can eat. BEWARE. They charge you for uneaten rice, but they make their rolls (8 pcs) and nigiri with at least 3 times the rice that you would normally get. While it was sticky as sushi rice should be, it wasn't every tasty (probably because I had such a huge clump of it in my mouth!! :-) They do cut the nigiri a little bigger, but the rice is still over the top, it is like they are setting you up to fail. While I understand not wanting ppl to waste food, don't give me extra rice so that I will waste it!? The other items are on the all you can eat can be shared, I recommend doing so to avoid being charged for anything left on your plate. The nigiri offerings don't include scallops, yellowtail or squid and they only offer 12 rolls vs. about 40 on their regular menu. The eel roll was the best thing I had. The salmon and tuna looked fresh, but they werent very favorful. I biggest issue was the rice, I was shocked that they give you so much and then want to charge you.
great people, foods & drinks – I love this restaurant when it first opened 3 years ago and since then i been coming in here ever since. The service is wonderful and attentive, foods alway taste fresh. Since they remodel their small dinning to extend the lounge is awesome. Love this restaurant decor, foods and drinks and especial Fri. and Sat. night DJ and music is a great plus.
Good food, if you can put up with poor service – Said it all. Food is good but expensive, but no service, another restraurant that will close shortly, don't make plans to eat here.
Great martinis, wine, sushi and seafood – Had my birthday party here over the weekend and it was great. Foods and drinks was amazing. Ours server was well verse in the menu and wine list. Just love this restaurant and we never heard it before a friend of ours recommending it to us. Try the Red Snapper, Las Vegas Rolls, Seared Scallops and Udon Stir-Fry. They have so many variety and price are reasonable. The restaurant music and setting was very old world with a touch of modern. Will be back.
Unique Dinning Experience – The service was perfect. The tuna roll spring roll and tempura calarmari for appetizer was exquisite. Such a nice change for Addison for restaurant row. Finally, an excellent restaurant. The yellowtail carpaccio was delicious and full of flavor. As a main dish which we split for two people we had the Rib Eyes Steak was so juicy and tender! Went very well with our white rice and veggi tempura. Wait staff was very attentive and friendly. Ambience was romanatic.
great date place – Last Saturday my date took me to Firefly and I didn't know what to expect. My first impression was what a beautiful and romanatic restaurant. We sat at the bar for a few drinks and then had dinner in the dinning room. We started with a few appetize ( taster 2 and yellowtail carpaccio). The taster 2 was perfect for 2 and it tasted great. The yellowtail carpaccio was fresh and tanee. For our main course, we both shared some rolls and seared scallops. The scallops was huge for 4 pieces and juicey in a curry sauce. The over all experience was great. Foods price was reasonable. Best wine list I have seen and price wise. My new hang out place.
AWESOME SERVICE, AMBIENCE, FOODS – WOW, HOW NICE IT IS TO SEE A WONDERFUL ASIAN RESTAURANT THAT ARE BUSY WITH EXCELLENT FOODS AND SERVICE. MY FRIENDS AND I HAD DINNER HERE LAST NIGHT (FRIDAY NIGHT) AND THEY WAS BUSY. I'M SO GLAD TO SEE THEY ARE DOING WELL. I FIRST CAME HERE ALMOST TWO YEARS AGO AND ALOT OF PEOPLE DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT THEM BUT NOW THEY DO. FOODS ARE EXCELLENT, TRYING THE SHAKING BEEF, GARLIC CRAB, AND KOREAN BBQ BEEF ARE ALSO MY FRAVORITE. WE ALSO HAD SOME SUSHI WHICH IS WONDERFUL ESPECIAL THE TEXAS ROLL AND THE DRAGONFLY ROLL. I WISH I LIVE CLOSE BY CUZ IT A FABULOUS PLACE!!!!!!!!!!
excellent sushi, wine and happy hour – Came with some friends for happy hour and it was excellent. The salmon and tuna nigiri was fresh and juicy. The 4 rolls we ordered tasted delicious and huge. The wine by the glass was reasonable and I love their spring rolls and prawns tempura. All in all, we will be back. I feel bad to people who does understand this place and what they are doing. Very different from a lots of restaurant out there.....
