Great bar. – I met a friend there last Friday, we met at the bar with intention of getting a table for dinner, he was there before me and had two hurricanes waiting. Seems the're a signature item and ony $5 at happy hour. There was a good athmosphere at the bar, cool staff so we decided to hang at the bar for dinner. We split a catfish appetizer between us an then a creole steak and for me a creole shrimp with rice. The five stars here is for the food, its for the staff and its for the whole deal. I love this place already. The food was AMAZING. The bar is the best bar I've ever seen. Great staff and as we were getting ready to leave a DJ started spinning and squeezed another hour or so out of our night. Wish I could have stayed longer, it was only getting started by 10pm.

Bring some glitzy beads to this sprawling, split-level N'awlins-inspired bar--wrought-iron balustrades, flickering gas lamps and fleur-de-lis aplenty--smack-dab in the middle of midtown's pre-theater restaurant row. Grab a table beside the crowd of shopping-bag-toting tourists and testosterone-fueled dudes watching sporting events on high-def TVs, or take to the long mahogany bar for a pint of Louisiana's own dark Abita Turbodog beer.
Hits: You'll catch all the games while devouring surprisingly decent bar food and sipping brews rarely glimpsed outside of the Big Easy.
Misses: You may be surprised by how much it costs to drink and dine in bar that's chock full of tourists and sports-watching louts.
Enjoyed it. – We only recently came accross this street having moved to NY last year, lots of varied restaurants and bars. I visited Bourbon Street after a show,(coupon in playbill caught my attentnion). The food was good , nice steaks and fish and there was a very nice athmosphere in the main area. We had requested a table upstairs on the balcony but there was a long wait. maybe next time. We didn't stay for dessert as it was late after a show but I'd like to try the whole deal soon,
NY's Best Kept Secret - Taste of French Quarter – Wow, as soon as you step into this place you feel transported to N'awlins!!! The ambience is awesome, even from the street when you spot those gas laterns burning you get the sense of what you are in for.
I saw the news posted on this site & had to try this place. My girlfried & I ate their today (5/24/08) and we were not let done. The food was AUTHENTIC, we asked & our waitress told us the Chef was from New Orleans & you taste it. I have been to New Orleans a few times so I was able to compare. I also love cooking this food based on recipe books so I have a good idea. We had the crab cake (tasted fresh from the sea) and gator for appetizers, seafood gumbo (there was a bunch of whole juicy oysters in there as well as shrimp) pretty much every spoonful you got some seafood so they were not cheap, ceaser salad, then for entries fried catfish (tender & melted in your mouth, not sure how he did it) and fried oysters (ok we went crazy on fried stuff I know but it was sooooo good & their menu goes well beyond stuff like that, nice creole choice on the menu too), then for desert beignets of course. We met the GM of the place & he comp'd us 2 free drinks which was awesome (had a great mint julip). The wait staff was friendly, prompt & attentive. We left stuft & can't wait to go back. I will be spreading the word to family & friends, we need this place to stick around for a long time (it is on like restaurant row on 46th so I am sure it is pretty competitive).
nice find – i saw an add for this new place in the village voice and as i'm from new orleans i couldnt resist. went friday night with a few friens from work and it is really very cool. old lamps and balconys made me feel like im at home. we hadonly appetizers which were great but i will be back for dinner the dining room is ont eh balcony upstairs and look amazing. the food we had was good. alligator in buffalo sauce and some great gumbo also had some abita beer from home too. i lkie it already.
Great food, tons of character – It's sometimes a fine line between doing a "theme" well and creating a plastic Disney experience. Bourbon Street really does it exactly right. Starting with the facade, and continuing with the New Orleans like atmosphere inside and the excellent food, you feel like you've been transported to the French Quarter. New York needed a place like this... Fun, authentic, good for a big group, or a date if you want to show a little personality and go somewhere exciting. I've been back a couple of times already (I work nearby), and I definitely recommend it...
Wow – Amazing creole steak and shrimp, beautiful dining area upstairs. Nice wines too, over all a fantastic dinner experience.
Cool place. – It seems odd that I was prompted to go to Bourbon Street after reading a terrible review here on Citysearch. I was shocked at that review because I know those guys have many great places in the neighborhoood, anyway the food and service were outstanding, the vibe is electric and without a doubt this place will be a bighit !!.
Excellent Service, Excellent Food – Working in the area I have experienced Bourbon Street on several ocassions and each time outshines the previous. The food is superb, the service is remarkable and the cocktails are inventive and delicious. Try the blackberry julep! This is a perfect restaurant for a fun dinner with friends and I have also taken clients for lunch. We had a great meal with a fantastic server. The duck spring rolls are a must have. I have nothing but praise for Bourbon Street and I will continue to enjoy this wonderful newcomer!
