Had a great first experience at Gio Studio Salon...Upon arrival, I noticed a very clean, open, professional and engaging environment.
The staff was very friendly and nice - they took my coat and gave me an glass of juice. A great start! They all do amazing work and are all really sweet. If you want to look stunning this is the place for you.
Gio is my stylist. She is dedicated to her craft and seems to genuinely care for her clients. She truly listens to the client. She is a true artist and enjoys thinking out of the box. I appreciate the way she treated me and was incredibly happy with the job that she did. And the cut….she nailed it!
She has an incredible talent with styling hair, she does it all. She'll transform you and make you look gorgeous.I have no complaints at all. She focused on me, listened to what I wanted, and actually did it. My hair came out great and I got so many compliments. Can't wait to go back!
When I leave there I look like a million bucks, (STUNNING). Its a great feeling!

Kevin was really great! He listened to what I wanted, and executed it beautifully. I had a grown pit Bob that I wanted to reshape to a more natural look - that is quite hard- I'm really happy with the result!!!
BEST COLOR AND CUT EVER!! – I was reffered to Gio by one of my friends at work.She told me I had to call and make an appointment due to the fact that Gio is very busy. The next day I called to book an appointment. From the conversation with the receptionist to my color and cut it was all fantastic. It is a wonderful place everyone and I mean everyone in the salon is very professional about everything they do. Gio colored and cut my hair she was very artistic about everything the color went very well with my skin tone and the cut and layers were straight out of a magazine!!
Wow, too good to be true for once a place where services are not over priced ,where I felt my money was well spent and above all.. the way you are treated you'll walk out feeling and looking like a million bucks!! I will be back you better believe it. I would recomend this salon to everyone it is well worth it!
Go see Umberto! – I found this salon on Groupon, which already made me feel a bit skeptical, but I had the best experience today. I called and explained that I had recently gotten a boring haircut and I just wanted someone who is good with long straight hair. The wonderful receptionist recommended Umberto, and I feel so lucky that I ended up in his hands. He took his time with me, listened, and gave me the most beautiful haircut and hairstyle. I could tell immediately that he has been doing this for a long time.
I am a very low maintenance girl, so I am very pleased that he was able to give me a haircut that I can just wash and go, and still look good. I also despise when people are pushy. Umberto did not push any products on me, didn't try and get me to spend any extra money (which impressed me being that i had a groupon and wasn't paying full price), and he really seemed to know exactly what I wanted without me having to give much direction.
I had a really difficult time trying to find a new salon based on reviews. Every hair salon seems to have some terrible feedback. This place had so many good ones that I decided to give it a try. I hope that anybody else reading this will feel comfortable going to Gio's. In my opinion, you just can't please everybody! Ignore the bad reviews this place rocks!! I will definitely recommend them to all of my friends and my own clients without hesitation! Soooo glad I found this place!!
Lovely... – I have been following Kevin for years. I love the hair cuts he gives me, and he is a color whiz! I've never been disappointed! His latest home is Gio Studio Salon, and what a sweet place! What it may lack in size, (think stylishly-petite), the entire staff makes up for with smiles and service! The gal who rules the sinks (wish I can remember her name) gives a shampoo better than most salons give massages! Wonderfully relaxing and enjoyable (and I'm not one who usually enjoys the head-back in the sink position).
If you are looking for a chic salon without the attitude, where you feel that your business is appreciated, than I would highly recommend trying Gio!
Beautiful work done one my hair, great place and lovely staf – To start with...
I am so glad I chose Gio Studio Salon. I have been going through really bad experiences before related to my hair and the way it was done before over and over with straightening and then color and cut.. it was a mess and I have been very unhappy until a friend of mine told me about this salon, in the beginning i was hesitant about trying out a new salon because i haven't been lucky in this aspect but i took the chance and went ahead to Gio's. I loved it, it was as far as good as my girlfriend told me. I walked in to the salon and sat down with Gio for 1/2 hr and she talked to me about my hair condition, what look could be the best for my face, and what should i do to make my hair look healthier and look great..and more importantly she asked what "I expected" from it as well. I was blown away by the caring feeling i got from her, usually you go to a salon and they do on you what they think is more profitable and try to induce you to buy and spent money on something you dont like and dont need, Gio was very knowledgeable and caring about my problem and the condition of my hair at the moment. I was not pushed to get a service i did not want, and I was very very happy with the treatment i got from the staff and the final result of my hair cut and color...just a brand new me!!!!
I got there , i was seen for a consultation and i got an awesome service, got my glass of wine, the music is great and the employees are just warm and friendly.I left that place with a smile and my beautiful hair cut and color, I look like a barbie doll now and feel great about myself! I was not afraid or uncomfortable about leaving my stuff on the chair while I under the color lamp , the place is small and everyone is doing they won stuff, you can actually see what everyone is doing and as I was treated with respect and kindness it did not worry me . I believe that if you go to a public place you gotta be responsible of your own stuff , but when i left Gio's i was so happy with my hair I forgot my kindlefire on the chair and got to realized when i got to the train, and the manager kindly call me to let me know my stuff was at the front desk for me to pick it up at my convenience...talking about service? You have not idea how happy i was because that was my mom's present !!!:) you guys rule!!!
I recommend this place with my eyes closed, you gonna get honestly a awesome service all the way through!!! I know I did!!!
I was there the day this client alleged her phone was broken – That day I was at Gio's getting my haircut as I have done since the salon opened almost 4 years ago. Well what I saw was totally the opposite from the far-fetched story this young lady has come up with. The owner tried to reason with her while she was putting on this theatrical show about her phone being smashed at the salon. Her boyfriend came to the rescue with pictures of her phone really who takes pictures of a phone. It all seemed well planned in other words a scam! She first leaves then comes back a while after stating her phone had been dropped at the salon. As a client and a witness I called the salon to offer my testimony in court if it were necessary. People shouldn’t sit around with their arms crossed when decent people are being framed or coned. I have been a faithful client to this salon where I have been treated with the utmost respect at all times. I just couldn’t sit around and not do anything.After reading this clients racist use of the term mutt I wonder what readers think about a person which can think of such adjectives for another person regardless of their right to protest. I thought racisim was done with in this country.Whoever has a chance read that part where this citysearch user uses these degrating terms. A person like this should be band from using a site such as citysearch and be prosecuted for her use of racial terms on a public platform.
Do NOT go here! – First off, let me start by saying they must have bought the reviews on this site, because if you check them out on Yelp - they have multiple bad reviews.. seems odd to me that they would all be good here. Anyways..
Stay far FAR away from this place. I got a Groupon the other week to get a haircut & deep conditioning done at Gio's. I made the mistake of not researching the salon prior. First off, I definitely did not get any sort of deep conditioning, the washer probably washed my hair for about three minutes, taking shorter than I do with my OWN hair. Then, I asked for a simple simple cut, a trim and to freshen up my layers and angles. Well, the hairstylist (Kevin) assured me he had done that, then went and styled my hair super curly. The next day, I decided to straighten my hair to really check out the cut, there were NO angles and NO layers.
So, I called them back and had to come back the next week to get it fixed. He didn't even WASH my hair before cutting it, and cut it dry - which clearly doesn't work that well. I was just so fed up I wanted to leave, so as soon as he was done, I asked for my coat (which they automatically take when you get there and hang on nails above a 12 foot staircase leading to a basement with cement floors), put it on, and stepped out the door. I wasn't even at the corner of the street when I took out my iPhone and noticed that it was completely broken and cracked in a MILLION places. I politely walked back into the salon and informed them that my phone was completely broken and it was not when I first got there. I know that it didn't happen on purpose and it must have been an accident, so I wasn't mad - I just wanted to be compensated for the damage. I believe it my coat was dropped, and in turn, the phone fell out of my coat and tumbled all the way down the stairs, smashing on the cement basement floor.
The owner automatically started screaming at me telling me it was broken before I got there (which is was not - nor would I ever try to pawn something off on a company if I actually was to blame). So, I informed her that it was not and noticed she had video cameras, so I asked to see the footage. She refused to show me the footage saying she didn't know how to work it.. (an owner of a company not knowing how to work her own video cameras? I won't even get into how ridiculous that is), so she told my boyfriend and I to come back the next day to see the footage. When he came back (I was at work) she started screaming at him right away and calling him names and such based on his SKIN COLOR.. which is ridiculous because she is some type of mutt ethnicity herself.
I could go on and on about how many things went wrong at this place, but I'll refrain. In the end, even though my phone was broken while in their hands, she told me that I would not get a "dime of her money" and that I was a drama queen because I brought up the issue to her and simply asked to be in someway compensated for the damage. (Which by the way could have easily been taken care of with the next haircut on the house). I called Groupon and let them know my experience. They not only refunded my money for the haircut, but gave me additional money to replace my phone - which was all around amazing. They informed me that they would never be doing any work with Gio Salon again, and I would suggest the same to anyone else thinking of going here.
Why did I wait so long to try this salon out????? – So after a summer of frizzy, curly, unruly hair I got to thinking about taking control of my hair. I read up online and narrowed it down to 2 salon.
I am so glad I chose Gio Studio Salon...after going thru a bad experience in 2004 with straightening my hair, I walked in to the salon and sat down with Gio for 1/2 hr and she talked to me about what to expect from the straightener...and more importantly she asked what "I expected" from it as well. I was blown away by her knowledge about the whole process. She walked me thru it step by step, from beginning to end. I know what you're thinking it was a sales pitch but here's the very thing that stood out to me...she gave up a 1/2hr of her time to literally listen to my questions without me even booking an appt when we were done. See that right there made the difference to me.
Most places pressure you to book immediately following a consultation. Here Gio didn't do that to me. She gave me her card and there was no pressure at all.
When I finally did take the leap, I realized I went with the best in town. My hair hasn't looked this good in years...EVEN when I don't blow it out...now if you have ever gotten your hair straightened you know if you don't blow it out...it's nothing but a frizzy mess but not with this product.
I have the option to blow my hair out or not and not look like a Q-tip. It was well worth the money and everyone I work with loves how shiny my hair is. There's bounce, shine and great style thanks to a quick trim Gio did.
Very happy will be back and telling everyone I know to RUN DON"T WALK to Gio's!!!!!!!
