Skip this CHOPSHOP! – i was very excited to eat at this new chopped salad restaurant...I have only had one visit but was very disappointed. The line was very long, and once the order was taken (while in line) it took even longer to rung up up. Then once rung up, it took even longer to get the salad. The idea of watching the chefs chop your salad is great, but they should put a few more chefs in back to really get the orders moving. Now for the salad. I ordered the Kitchen Sink Cobb salad straight off the menu board to go, dressing on the side. No substitutions, etc. It was not chopped. I was expecting a chopped salad with everything itty bitty so I could have all flavors in one bite. There were 3 pieces of carrot, 4 garbanzo beans, 3 grape tomatoes cut in half, no turkey, hardly any bacon, (as i got there the chef was yelling no more bacon we are out!) and 3 strips of chicken (which was tender and moist, very yummy tasting) , but the chicken was not chopped! They put the strips on top of the "chopped " salad. I don't know about you, but i hate to take out my knife to cut up chicken into super small bites to fit into the chopped salad. I pay for it to be chopped , it should be chopped, all of it! I am pretty sure it was missing some ingredients as it was mostly romaine lettuce. There was no side of asparagus as posted on the menu either.. Also the inside eating area was very poorly lit...VERRRRRY disappointing. Skip this chop shop.

UPDATE : Delish...I would eat there everyday...if I could. – I am updating my previous review (4 stars) to 5 stars!

The good: my mexplosin salad with gigantic grilled shrimp was absolutely delish, very, very satisfying with the new wheat tortilla that they are putting in the salad. I went there a few weeks ago and it took 15 mins for this it took a mere 6 minutes, and there were certainly more 'goodies' in there. Worth every hard earned penny (cost was $11)!

The bad: The only bad part is that I don't take a lunchbreak from work, otherwise I could enjoy my salad in their beautiful restaurant!

Bottom line?I'll go back (not often because my lean pocketbook), in a month or so when all of the employees have rec'd thorough training and experience, and just in case, I will call in my order.

Still needs work – I've been to this place 4 times. First time, the line was out the door so i skipped it. The next time, I was the only customer so my order was correct. The third time, my order took over 20 minutes and was wrong. The 4th (and I think my last time for a while) was today and completely wrong. I normally watch them make my salad because I'm very particular about my food. The place is so new that they haven't worked out the kinks yet. The employees still don't know the ingredients to each salad. So far, I've received all my salads missing ingredients. The first time did not have tomatoes or avocados ($12 make your own). The last time they put chicken instead of shrimp on my salad and decided to toss it out and make a new one (which took another 15 mins). The correct salad had the shrimp but did not come w/eggs whites, avocado, and basil ($15 cobb). You'd think they'd at least know what ingredients go into their signature salads. They are all very nice and the ingredients are fresh and tastey but it takes too long and your order is always wrong. Such a dissappointment. The only salad shop in Beverly Hills. I hope they get it right soon!

Great Taste -- More Chopping/Mixing/Tossing Please! – As a NYC transplant I was thrilled to learn Greenleaf Gourmet Chopshop was opening. I was a frequent customer of both Chop't and Tossed in NY. These salad shops became so popular that almost every NY deli now offers chopped/mixed salads to get a piece of the action. So, I was in withdrawal when I couldn't find anywhere in LA to get a huge chopped salad on the go.

So while my salad was so very tasty I found a few things disappointing. The (delicious!) olives were whole, with pits. They were mixed into the salad, making it difficult to just take a huge yummy bite without worrying about breaking my teeth. There was absolutely NO chopping as far as I could see - the leaves were all still whole. And perhaps most disappointing, the dressing was not mixed in, but provided on the side in a smaller container. Step 4 on the menu is "Step back to avoid flying leaves as we slice, dice, chop and dress your creation." They skipped that step with me apparently.

Lastly, (but not as big of a deal because the salad so, so good, and it was their first week open...) the salad I got just wasn't the salad I ordered. I ordered the Zorra the Great salad and added grilled steak.

It seemed they must have grabbed a container of spring mix out of a cooler and added the steak and maybe some other ingredients. It was supposed to be Greenleaf romaine and it was mixed lettuces. It had a (delicious) sort of spread on the bottom of the container that wasn't listed as part of this particular salad and it was missing cucumbers, herbs and the menu says it's served with pita chips and marinated artichokes... (but it was not supposed to come with olives).

So, I'd say the salad mix up was an honest one for a fledgling restaurant, but the way the salad was presented made it so much less special than a gourmet greens chop shop should produce, in my humble opinion.

I recommend it for tasty, but some of the quirks need to be worked out before it's a gourmet salad experience.

LOVE IT!!! – We've been waiting for this place to open for months! It was actually a lot nicer than I expected. Impressive imaginative menu, amazing selection of wines, and a great feeling space. Everyone in my group LOVED their salads- MEXPLOSION and COBB were the winners... The wait was around 20 minutes, but to be expected for fresh made to order food. Will be back AGAIN AND AGAIN!

Great for a quick & healthy bite. – Fantastic! I had a custom salad with a VERY large piece of seared ahi. The fish was prepared perfectly. Pricing was fair and the location is fantastic. Good for a quick bite, the line was a bit long but moved quickly.
