Fresh Sushi, friendly staff, good price – I have been to most sushi places around the Eastside and this is my favorite. The food is fresh and delicious and the prices are usually good for what you get. The staff is incredibly accommodating and friendly and after visiting this place about twice a month I feel like family when I walk in.
The food itself is much better than places like Sushiland. Don't listen to the reviews that would say otherwise, unless you want to eat your California rolls with brown avocado and warm krab. Then by all means, waste the money.
I visit Sushi Connections twice a month or more, and often find myself craving it. In fact, I think I will go there for dinner tonight...
ALL the pics are stolen from Sushi Land – These guys are total copycats...even down to copying EVERY single menu picture from Sushi Land's website - see for yourself!
When Sushi Land reads this they gonna be fried - as in calimari!!!
Better Catch up to Blue C – I had heard this place was the place to go, was even told that by people leaving as we walked in.
First off, I prefer to choose where I sit, instead of being seated by a smokey flavoured trucker with a baseball cap on.
The roe was mushy and smelled fishy, not popping in your mouth like fresh roe should be.
Tuna was presented in two warm pieces with some sort of BBQ powder on it and only two thin slices instead of 4 or 5 generous slices that you get from Blue C.
I was so disappointed, and even more so because the owner was so nice and friendly. I hope that he reads these and tunes it up a bit. Because until he does I will have to drive to Bellevue or Alderwood to feel like I am getting good sushi
Ick – Well, this is not the best sushi place in the world. There are much better places, when I went the rice was all dried out, the fish actually smelled fishy (If you don't know, when a fish actually smells fishy then it is not fresh, and is not the best thing to eat)
I would rather go to Sushi land, its only about 10 minutes out of my way but it is worth it.
Sad Sushi – Despite the other well written and generally happy reviews below..I think Sushi Connection needs to hear some honesty..
If you like your sushi fresh and well made don't expect that when you eat here.
It's Fast Food Sushi the warm sushi was cold and the cold sushi was warm. -
Our absolute favorite! – We LOVE Sushi Connections! We go at least once a week and when we don't, we miss it and RUN back at the first possible moment. For sushi-newbies, this is the PERFECT place to start. There are many selections for beginners and sushi pros, alike. Owner, Ken, head chef, Johnny, and the whole crew are awesome, friendly and willing to help you learn all about sushi and give suggestions based on what you might like. If you want something not on the belt, just ask! Kids love choosing their own, healthy, dinners. Our son loves plain udon soup (thick noodles in broth), shrimp tempura, crab stick, fruit, and tamago (egg). Try a Hawaiian staple, SPAM Musubi! I know, I know . . . SPAM - ick, but don't knock it! When it's made like this, It's good stuff! :) The edemame is wonderful as a side to your sushi and the deserts are yummy! (ask for the tempura fried ice cream - soooooo good!) And .. . they make party platters! Just call ahead! Enjoy the sushi, enjoy the experience! Way to go, Sushi Connections!
Best kaiten sushi – If you went to Sushi Land or other kaiten sushi wanna be and were disappointed, I want to recommend going to Woodinville and visiting Sushi Connections. The friendly staff warmly greets you with "dozo irashai masei" as you enter and promptly seats you at the conveyor belt counter loaded with the freshest sushi and sashimi you've ever had! My favorites are the spicy tuna handroll, Samurai Roll and beautiful sashimi platter. Don't see something on the belt? Ask chefs Johnny or Mark or the owner, Ken Tran. Sake lovers will appreciate the largest and best selection of sake in the Northwest. American and Japanese beer, wine and soft drinks are available if sake is not your thing. Besides sushi, there's miso soup, spicy squid salad, gyoza (potstickers), chicken katsu, udon, seaweed salad, and several specialty rolls with things like tempura or softshell crab. For dessert there is green tea, azuki bean and mango ice cream and tempura ice cream. Mango is my favorite and the best this side of Maui! Kids will like the spam musubi, juice drinks in colorful dinosaur containers and picking things from the belt. I guarantee you'll say ,"Oishi desu" (It's delicious) and will be back like the many regulars who enjoy the great food and feeling of ohana (family).
Pros: Very fresh fish, affordable, quick service, child friendly, friendly staff, ample parking and aloha spirit.
Great Sushi at an affordable price – Sushi Connections is outstanding sushi at an affordable price. The cutomer service is great. If you dont see what you want on the conveyor belt then just ask the chef and they will make it for you.
This is how they do it in Japan.
Quality and Service – You will be hard pressed to find a similar value for your money. Unlike Marinepolis Sushiland, Sushi Connections is CLEAN the food is DELICIOUS AND FRESH and the service is FRIENDLY. There is something for the hard core sushi lover, kids who are picky eaters and the not overly adventurous sushi fan. If you don't see something right away you can order whatever you want. Tons of variety to choose from including dessert! Definitely on my list of favorite places to eat.
My #1 favorite! – I crave their sushi when I away- I would eat there every day and every night if I could. The owner, Ken, has excellent recommendations in sake. Johnny, Marc, and the rest of the staff are friendly, funny, and prompt. When we ask for something, they do not hesitate to cater to our sushi/sashimi/SPAM desire. The food is fresh, the atmosphere is comfortable, the service is outstanding. This is the most excited about a resturant I have been in a very long time. Keep up the great work, Sushi Connection and I will continue to be a loyal and frequent customer, recommending you to everyone I know!
