Awesome Place! – The place is awesome. Foods are really delicious!
worst bartender ever. dont go there – The bartender was drinking on the job and being very rude to us. She was an Asian girl obviously intoxicated. I have never experienced such a rude bartender. She demanded tip and had added some drinks to our bill that we had not had. The rest of the worker were obviously intimidated by her and were very disconcerned when we voiced our concerns. I have been to restuarant where the owners were present and they had always been courteous and very friendly. She was more concerned about being tipped than keeping the customers comfortable. She behaved like she was doing us a favor serving us drinks. Food was exellent, the crowd was very friendly.
Collateral Before You Eat A Meal – Capones Bar & Grill 4304 Westheimer: On Friday 3/18/11 approx 9:00 p.m. Our group of 10 people were sat at a outside table by the waitress. The waitress first requested the entire table give her a credit card to keep everyones bills separate. We all gave a credit card but felt what is really happening. Before the waitress took my card I told I was paying cash she did not care she requested it anyway . I asked her not to place anything on my card and this did not make any sense. After we ate I went to the bathroom and asked another customer if she was asked to give a credit card she stated no as this lady was paying cash. I proceeded to s/w the manager she stated the reason the credit cards were taken was because large party have a history leaving before they paying. We asked other tables about this they stated they did not have to give a credit card and others that gave one credit card for the entire table. After we ate the waitress gave everyone back there credit cards back with no bill then she retuned later with a separate bill for everyone. The waitress was not forthcoming as she really took the credits cards based on others actions of not paying for there meals before leaving. Once coming back to the table again we asked the waitresss why she took our credit cards, she stated to keep everyones checks separate. She should have stated that people are skipping out on there bills so are using this action to stop people from skipping out on there bills instead of saying she needed our credit cards to keep the bills separated. I am 52 years old and never in my life have I been made to feel that I needed collateral before I''ve eaten a meal in a public place. I did asked the manager for the policies she stated they were on the back door for large parties that credit cards are to be taken from all customers when there is a large party. I feel this should have been explained at first instead of picking us out as a group that would skip on a meal ticket. I feel violated and everyone should be treated the same no matter the size of the group because small party can skip out on a meal ticket as well as a larger group of people. My sister is a hair dresser, last year she was cutting a gentleman's hair, once the haircut was done, he requested to get his wallet from his car then never returning to pay the bill.
Great Bar with Live music or DJ (two in one) – Best days for me is on Friday with the greatest blues band in Houston by Name Luther & the Healers.
Another would blue be Wednesdays with the unbelievable Trio kick butt blues band.
If you like other kind of music party and hip then friday in the back room will be the place.
There is plenty of room to dance, go to see the blues dancers or the west coast swing dancers.
Eye popping experience when they do come out.
Nothing is "good" at Capone's...it is "excellent". Houston has so many diverse restaurants and I like to pride myself on walking into a new place at least once a week. Few places would I deem a favorite "haunt" but this is one of them. Yes, I am a repeat offender and I will am sure I will be back before the week is over. Their pizzas are incredible and they have a fabulous happy hour. Not only does this place have great food and vibe, if you don't have to rush home, you will see some top notch local musicians frequenting the stage. Rumor has it that they are about to expand the menu and offer pasta dishes. I plan on being there to check it out....
Great Place To Hang Out – I have been to Capone's on Saturday nights. The food is great; however, the bar behind it (The Hideout) is where we usually hang out. The DJ is awesome and the staff is very friendly. Love the open bar with the patio - gives it a very intimate feel, yet very open. Definitely recommend it to those that want to have a good time!
Great Bar! – I have never eaten at the restaurant but frequent the back bar on Saturday nights. The DJ is great and the staff there is friendly. I love the open outdoor concept to the back bar. Great place to go on the weekends.
Best Pizza – This is the first review I have ever done on CitySearch, and this place drove me to do it. I loved it. The pizza is by far the best in Houston! The service was spectacular. The house salad is excellent with the cheese on top of a large slice of pear! YUM!! The gelato was the perfect way to end the meal, served in old fashion cocktail glasses, and a perfect individual portion. This is the best place in Houston for pizza. We had the sausage pizza and we just could not get enough of it. We went Saturday, plan on going again Thursday, and again as often as possible! LOVED IT LOVED IT LOVED IT!!!
Highland Village date spot serving wood-fired pizzas and well-chosen wines until late night. – In Short
In keeping with the name, expect a decidedly speakeasy vibe with black-and-white photographs of notorious gangsters decorating the walls and regular live jazz performances adding to the atmosphere. The restaurant is entirely without a kitchen, but the cornerstone wood-burning oven churns out some creative, thin-crust gourmet pies like the sausage and red pepper pizza with fresh parsley or the bacon and Tabasco-infused pineapple version. The menu also includes salads and small tapas-style plates.
