It's Michelin star rated and they do delivery. Laut is a Singaporean/Malaysian eatery with amazing laksa and roti.

Food's ok, service good, ambiance ok - the point is that there is nothing to distinguish this Flatiron spot from any other Thai place in the area.

Enjoyable Pan-asian – Union Square is a mix of cheap and pricey. Trendy and overlooked. But I go to Laut often and enjoy typical as well as seasonal dishes.

They offer a variety of typical Thai and Malaysian dishes, but they also offer seasonal unqiue dishes. If you get the courage to try something new, you may be pleasantly surprised as I was, when I tried one of their noodle salads.

I think the price is just right and the food is acceptable.

It was pretty good – I ordered a pretty conventional dish, the ginger chicken, but it was pretty good. However, we did not know that the "blanket shrimp" would be fried (it said wrapped in rice paper, but other things said fried, so I assumed that if this didn't, it would be cooked another way), and I would have preferred not fried. It's a good location and a much nicer place to go out for dinner than a Chinese takeout joint, and not too expensive (though not cheap either). It was empty at 7 but started to fill up after 8, when people started leaving happy hours (Laut has drinks, but no actual bar to sit at). I liked that they had non-disposable chopsticks because the disposable ones are so wasteful. If I'm looking for something in the area, I'd probably try it again.

Editorial Review – From the same people behind Mizu Sushi, a Thai kitchen near Union Square.
