The cupcakes are too cute for words. And boy are they sweet. Another reason to come here is the homemade lemonade. Pucker up!

Trendy high-end cupcake shop goes all-out with creative flavors like pink lemonade and Oreo-sprinkled treats, plus strong coffee or milk to wash them down. Cookies and whole cakes are also available.

Crumby Much? – Take it from a cupcake connoisseur, Crumbs is definitely not the place to get your cupcake fix.

If you like large, over-priced cupcakes with lackluster ingredients, please go ahead and visit Crumbs. If you don't, keep reading...

I've tried a whooping five cupcakes on two different visits just to make sure I wasn't the only crazy one who isn't a fan of Crumbs.

I spent a Saturday cupcake-tasting with four close friends splitting four cupcakes into somewhat equal pieces of five. We ate each cupcake one at a time, criticizing every aspect of the cupcake.

Crumbs has a great selection of cupcakes. Flavors range from the popular Artie Lange, banana Baba Booey, Margarita, Hostess, and the list goes on...

I've tried the (1) chocolate brownie, (2) raspberry chocolate, (3) red velvet, (4) grasshopper, and (5) cappuccino.

(1) The cake and the frosting of the chocolate brownie were both very dry. It was topped with three tiny brownie bites and a drizzle of chocolate. The chocolate wasn't rich and clearly was of poor quality.

(2) The raspberry chocolate was the 2nd best out of the cupcakes. The raspberry frosting was a bit tart and a little sweet with a moister cake.

(3) The red velvet cake wasn't memorable and rich in flavor like Sprinkles. Instead, it was a bit dry and wasn't topped with traditional cream cheese frosting. No cream cheese frosting... yeah you heard me!

(4) The grasshopper, a mint chocolate cupcake, tasted like toothpaste and overpowered the flavor of the chocolate.

(5) The best cupcake of the lot was the cappuccino. The cake was moist and the frosting screamed coffee and paired well with the chocolate.

All of the cupcakes were not only topped, but filled with frosting. I'm okay with overly frosted cupcakes, because I can down frosting shots like no other, but there is NO excuse for dry cake! With little turnover, at the Glendale Americana, it is no wonder that these cupcakes were dry. Overall, I don't like to take my chances with a $3.75 cupcake that has a 60% of being dry.

In this case, quantity definitely doesn't equate to quality. Check out SusieCakes, Sprinkles, Kiss My Bundt, Dots, etc. for cupcakey goodness!

Delicious – Lovely cupcakes served up by lovely staff. They even gave out tiny sample-sized cupcakes to help me choose what I wanted!

Dry Cupcakes – If you're going to be opportunistic and unoriginal and jump on the cupcake bandwagon, at least try to make the cake part moist. Boo!

Great variety, great cupcakes! – I've been a fan of Crumbs Bakeshop since trying the infamous Artie Lange cupcake at the store in Beverly HIlls. It's a vanilla cake filled with chocolate cream cheese frosting, then topped with vanilla cream cheese frosting, dipped in chocolate fondant, then finally rolled in sprinkles. Amazing.

Crumbs has only gotten sweeter since opening their second LA storefront in Larchmont Village. They have the same variety of cupcakes (36 flavors! Crazy ones like Banana Split and Hostess to a basic vanilla cake with vanilla frosting), but feature a more refined, Euro-cafe style atmosphere. Sadly, there is no seating, but the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. A definite new staple for Larchmont!

Opening its second store in the Southland, this Manhattan-born bakery renews L.A.'s cupcake craze. – In Short
Angelenos' passion for individually portioned cakes shows no signs of cooling with the arrival of this NY bakery in Los Angeles. Rows of baseball-sized cupcakes mounded with frosting come in myriad flavors and colors, presenting a challenge for even the most decisive sweet-tooth. Bestsellers include yum-inducing Devil Dog (chocolate cke filled and frosted with vanilla buttercream and garnishd with chocolate chips and crumbs) and the Artie Lang, vanilla spongecake filled with chocolate buttercream, topped with vanilla buttercream and chocolate fondant.
