Not a great Vegas restaurant – I was excited to try out this restaurant, but was disappointed from the first round of drinks. Drinks were weak (had a margarita on the rocks, and one of the "specialty" mixed drinks), and food portions were small; the sushi rolls were the tiniest I've ever seen. Waitress was nice though. Completely overpriced. If you get your kicks spending $200 and up on sake, this is your place. Otherwise, there are so many better places in Vegas to eat....
Best Fusion of Cuisines on the Strip – A fantastic mix of South American and Japanese cuisine! Sushisamba has a great atmosphere and even better food. I had actually stumbled across it by accident when I was shopping in the Palazzo and I'm glad I did. I went back again that same weekend!
Great overall experience! Interesting cuisine... – I am a longtime las vegas local who likes to keep up on anything new (Esp yummy food) that opens around town,.. I was curious about Sushi Samba because I had heard of the one in new york. I didnt know what to expect and ended up having a great meal. We took some suggestions from our waitress because we were unfamiliar with a lot of things, and what we got was all wonderful! The glazed sea bass skewers were to die for, and the corn, the taquitos, and also the creative stuff they did with sashimi was aweseom. We got this raw yellowtail thing with pepper and a lemongrass sauce..yummmm... ...Oh ya it is like south american food and japanese mixed......
My portion of the bill was under $75ish after tip, and was totally worth it for what we ate. Way overall good and not too expensive for a place in Palazzo, and Strip restaurants in general. Also, We tried a large bottle of sake and that was not bad. They have lots to choose from, and I was sad they didnt have hot sake, I mean it is Half a freakin sushi place!!! But the cold bottle we had was tasty and different. the sushi looked good too but we didnt have any of the rolls. we went there late at like 10 and it was pretty busy. I will totally go again.. fo sho. I think that the people who dogged the place so hard on pther comments must be terribly unhappy people/diners in general. Nobody could possibly hate this place that bad unless your waiter ordered your food for you then ate it in front of you! I'd say give it another chance but i dont want to dine with poo heads.
Thats it :)
In my opinion Sushi Samba is highly recommended**
The Worst Place to eat Sushisamba – My husband and I visit Las Vegas in Aug 27- 30, and eat at Sushisamba the first day. This is the WORST food restaurant in Las Vegas. Let?s start with the waiter, who asked us if this was our 1st time at Sushisamba and that he will order our food for us.
The 1st item was some sort of combination of sushi with dipping sauce, which tasted bitter. The 2nd item was Kobe beef strips served raw with a hot rock that you place the meat on to cook. Still, I was not sure, if you should cook raw meat over a rock but the waiter said it was safe. The 3rd item was some weird ice cream fruit , which taste like plastic. The waiter ask us for our room number and never came back with the bill. The next day, we were so ill since my husband is in the medical field he knew that what we had made us sick. When we look at the bill online at the hotel is was $610.00 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. They rip us off and charge this ridiculous price for the little bit of food we had. The waiter falsified the charges and submitted to the hotel.
When we called The Venetian about the falsified charges they told us they can not do anything since they do not own Susisamba. We contacted restaurant and they could not find the receipt and no one else was sick. Their corporate office told us they would not credit back the charges.
We file a complaint with the health services for food borne illness against Sushisamba. I am now stuck with the charges ' Sushisamba is a tourist trap and they will rip you off".
DONT JUST WALK RUN AWAY – I love fine dining but Sushi Samba by far is the WORST restaurant I have ever been to. Once seated it took literally 2 hours for all of our food to come out. Once we opted to order cocktails rather than the suggested $180 bottle of sake the service went drastically downhill. Even with a $240 bill the server neglected to attend to our table. The sashimi platter was beautifully presented however i threw it all up. The brazilian bbq was overcooked and slightly dry. Don't bother trying their dipping sauces for the bbq unless you can supress your gagging reflexes. Unless you would like to be served a platter of sickness followed by extremely poor service and a 2 hour wait you're better off dining at Yellowtail instead or many of the other fine dining options vegas has to offer.
Horrible Food, Great Drinks – Was just there a week ago and it was, unfortunately, a bad culinary experience. The restaurant has a great party feel to it and the drinks are delicious...definitely not skimpy on the alcohol! It all went down hill once we were seated for dinner...service was awful and the food was terribly bland. A couple of our dishes were never brought to us and it took almost 45 minutes to get another round of drinks. Waiter was completely checked out and was more interested it socializing than taking care of his tables. I travel/dine out regularly and this was, by far, the worst meal i have ever had.
Great Food, Even Better Drinks! – I've had a chance to go here a couple times, and I keep coming back. The food is really good, but the drinks are even better! I took some friends from out of town here the other night, and we all had an amazing time drinking TY KU and soda the whole night (at least what i remember of it - haha). Definitely going back this weekend for their official grand opening party!
Pass on Sushi Samba or just visit for lunch – I was hesitant to visit Sushi Samba after I heard that the one in Dallas closed down last month, but I went anyway.
While the food at Sushi Samba is good, the level of service and management team is below par. A friend and I visited Sushi Samba this past Friday night. It was moderately busy, not slammed, but there was a crowd. Our server appeared to be in the weeds the entire night, which wasn't necessarily her fault if she had more assistance from other servers or bussers who were just standing around. We waited almost 10-15 minutes between courses- up to 30 minutes for 3 sushi rolls. A manager came by to inquire into how everything was. We were honest, but didn't trash the server as we could tell she was very busy. The manager adviced us that everything is coursed out family meal style, which we figured out by the end of the meal. Although it would have been nice if our server had advised us of this up front, but then again she appeared to be running 5 tables with little to no help. We advised the manager of our dissatisfaction regarding the wait time (the entire experience lasted 2 hours!!!!) and how we nearly missed our performace of the Jersey Boys. He again stressed the fact of how Sushi Samba courses everything out and never offered any sort of sincere apology. Perhaps, he was having a bad night or maybe we were just another table complaining, but a simple "I understand- thanks for your feedback" would've been ok. 2 hours would've been ok if we had an attentive server and amazing food. The food was ok/good at best. Not worth the $230 + tip bill. Save your time and your money. Check out Sushi Samba at lunch and form your own opinion.
Warning – WARNING- Wall Video not for kids. Service was good--- Food outstanding--Sake girl talk too much " a sort of used car salesmen. Managers looked tired and I guess the owner looked mad. The server told us his name Shamon or shimon , she mentioned he never smiles and always mad.
Great Food -- Fantastic Party Atmosphere – The food was exotic and excellent. A must go to in Vegas. Some of the best sushi and drinks around. Try the Samabatini. It is a real party atmosphere, so it is loud with videos playing. Enjoyed it much more then Tao, Nobu, or Social House.
