I went in with my Fiance recently and like the gentleman below said, we took a number and sat down. It was my first time there but not my fiance's. We waited so long we finally went and got coffee, came back and our number still wasn't up. We finally left. Tried again a couple of days later, same situation. I started to think this wasn't the way I wanted be treated if someone is about to spend several thousand dollars on me. Like most people, we went there for 2 reasons... the TV ads and because my fiance had purchased his previous tri-color gold ring there and wanted to trade up, as well as buy a ring for me. Well, that was a joke! On our third and final attempt we got to speak to a sales person and then a manager. When we said we had a ring that had been purchased there and we wanted to trade up, they told us that they didn't want to even see the ring because although they tell you on TV you can trade up & that the ring will appraise for double, they wanted nothing at all to do with it. So we left after wasting 3 hours of a beautiful day!
We later went to a reputable jeweler in town our friiend suggested and after looking at his ring carefully & weighing it he said it was a very nice ring but the ring he purchased for $550.00 the year before was really only worth about $250 - $300, if that. There went the jewelry exchanges "guaranteed to appraise for double" right out the window! I suppose if you were to pay for an appraisal from the Jewelry Exchage THEY would appraise it for double but doesn't seem like anyone else would, and that shouldn't be the case... am I wrong?? And hasn't the price of gold gone up... not down??
I mentioned this whole scenario to a woman at work and she laughed and goes on to tell me how the diamonds on her $8,000 ring purchased at the Jewlery Exchange keep falling out and she's been back there 4 times with it to have it repaired and had to pay to have it done each time!!
We have since found a gorgeous diamond ring from Kay's which believe it or not, when I took it to the same jeweler my fiance took his ring to be appraised, he said that we did very well as his verbal appraisal was not exactly double but was more than 70% higher than what we paid! So yes, I'm very happy... very happy that I DIDN'T buy a ring from the Jewelry Exchange!!!
Do yourself a favor, don't wait hours to be treated like you're buying a pound of ham!!!! You work too hard for your money!
Worst jewerly store EVER!!!!! – My husband and I went to the Jewerly Exchange six years ago to have my mother's diamond reset. The ring, lost the small two stones within a year. We went back, with receipt in hand, and were told that we would have to pay for the stones AND the repair. Call me crazy, but I think a ring should last longer than a year. The occision was my 25 wedding anniversary. Very sad indeed! Well, six years later, the other ring, my sister's diamond, that we also had reset at the same time, has just split in the back!!! I am not a construction worker, but a school nurse. I think the quality of work and product is very poor. I know they have many good reviews, but I think these are all write within a short amount of time. The sadest thing of all is these diamonds I speak of are from family members I have lost. I wear the rings to remind me every day they are with me. DON'T RISK LOSING YOU PRECIOUS STONES!!!! Sorry I wasted my money....poor wrokmenship!
I had seen advertisements for the Jewelry Exchange, and I followed up via internet and word of mouth. My findings were almost all positive. The one negative comment I had heard was from a family friend, who come to find out, had never even been to the Jewelry Exchange. I decided that the Jewelry Exchange was a good place for my girlfriend and I to begin our search for that all important engagement ring.
As we entered the Jewelry Exchahnge, I was asked to take a number. Take a number, I began to think that I had entered the deli counter line and maybe this wasn't the right place for us. However, it quickly became apparent to me that there were a lot of other people there and we might be on to something good.
Once we were called up, we were greated by a pleasant and experienced sales woman. Many people do not appreciate having their names posted publicly. Therefore, out of personal and professional courtesy, I won't mention them, other than to say they were great. As a reminder, and as previously stated, we only stopped by to look or so I thought. The sales person possessed both knowledege and strategy, but what I liked most was that she respected our opinions and allowed us to incorporate ouselves not only in the ring selection, but also in the process.
During this process, several other sales professionals, including the manager, checked in with us, not to be over bearing, but to help widen our perspectives. My girlfriend was able to focus in on which rings she liked, all of them, just kidding, and we moved forward. Interestingly enough, she narrowed her choices down to 2 very different styles of rings. You could make a case for both rings. However, I told her that she could choose only one ring today.
She quicky shifted toward me, and sated "we are not getting a ring today, are we"? It was then that we both realized we were talking about getting the ring here and now, not later. She could hardly contain her enthusiasm and her anxiety. I expressed that we could indeed come away with a ring, if she found the right one. The speed, intensity and excitement level began to rise. The staff had been so helpful and understanding that we seemed poised to pounce on the opportunity.
Should we or shouldn't we do this, and which of the 2 rings was the right one. The staff were equally poised and helpful. They expressed that even though this was late in the day on a Saturday , they could ensure that we could walk out with a ring, sized to fit, this very day.
We stepped out to discuss this further. It quickly became apparent that my girlfriend had chosen the ring or vice versa. I knew it was the right ring, but she had to make that decision herself. We returned 45 minutes later and expressed our intentions to purchase the ring. The professional selection process was only enhanced by the customer care, attention and service which followed. The quality of the ring was excellent and the sales negotiations were prompt, professional and mutually beneficial. I would like to say that the ring chose the person, but in reality the people at the Jewelry Exchange helped guide us toward our goal of making the best choice.
The bling on the ring was only exceeded by the smile on her face. Thank you Jewelry Exchange for helping guide us on the Journey of the Ring. Awesome job!
Jewelry Exchange Sudbury, Ma. – As times are tough for many people these days due to the economy, I felt the need to raise the spirits of my wife and nothing makes a woman's eyes sparkle more than a diamond. After searching many jewelry stores, we visited the Jewelry Exchange. We received very helpful and friendly service shopping there.
The service was outstanding, the quality of the jewelry exceptional and the price unbeatable.
Seeing my wife with the sparkle in her eyes and glow on her finger makes me feel so good.
Thanks Jewelry Exchange.
Piece of cake – As soon as I walked into this establishment I was greeted by the sales manager Arthur Murphy. Very nice man, he offered me free air conditioning immediately, good sense of humor. I told him what I was interested in, which was a diamond pendant. We discussed my price range and then I was shown what diamonds were already mounted. I came at the right time because they were discounted at 15%. There was no high pressure at all, this man was a true gentleman and he will definitely be seeing me in his store in the near future.
Kristine was awesome!!!!! – I never fill out internet reviews but this time I had to......
I was looking for an engagement ring and started at high end jewelers that were stuffy and sky high in price!
But just like the rest of you I was bombarded with those "Jewelry Exchange" commercials first thing in the morning, so I figured I would check out the website.....the prices were in my range and we all know jewelry is marked up a few hundred percent.
I spoke with Kristine Nixon and she was awesome....so helpful...I made this poor woman pull out 4 settings and 5 diamonds, and she did it with a smile.....after and hour I found "the ring".....and she got the price just where I wanted it.
My brother saw the ring and did not believe what I paid....thank you Kristine!!!!!........I'll be back for the bands~
Great Place – They are great. I really enjoyed my experience when I went there to buy a diamond ring. Peter was really great, very friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend him.
Great Experience – My wife lost the diamond out of her engagement ring. She wanted to replace it without spending a fortune. The Jewelry Exchange had advertised quality diamonds at discounted prices. So...off to Sudbury we went. I wasn't expecting much and was convinced it would be a brief visit. When we arrived there was a woman beside us at the counter who was receiving outstanding service. However, she was looking at a ring in the $10,000 price range. We were shocked to find that we got the exact same attention and service despite telling our salesperson ( Arthur ) that we were looking in the $500 price range. He took his time, showed us several nice diamonds and never once tried to get us out of our price range. In fact, my wife, Arthur and myself all agreed that the least expensive stone shown to us looked the best. The next surprise came when Arthur was able to get us into a brand new gold setting for only $20 more than it was going to cost to repair the old one. Great price, service and value. Highly recommend the Jewelry Outlet in Sudbury.
Great place to shop for Jewelry – I shopped for a platinum band for my diamond. The people were so knowledgeable, helpful and extremely pleasant. The prices were excellent.
I highly recommend shopping at the Jewelry Exchange
Well worth the trip – I was so nervous! My boyfriend was taking me to pick out an engagement/wedding ring and as soon as we opened the door, Arthur greeted us and introduced himself and put us right at ease. We were not overly knowledgeable about diamonds, but had a few parameters. Arthur listened to what I wanted, found several choices and alternatives and did not push us to go beyond our budget. I had looked online first, but thanks to Arthur, I was able to get a much higher quality stone for the setting I chose within the budget. All employees in the store were friendly, and we ended up choosing the wedding bands as we waited for the diamond to be set. We are thrilled!
