Worst company I've ever dealt with... – The customer service is horrible. We have had to work with Planet Satellite because they were given the contract for our building. On several occasions, the company seemed to have a complete disregard for its customer. There were times that we placed 4-5 calls/day without hearing back from the company and installations were delayed. Several other tenants in our building have complained about their service as well.

Planet Satellite charged us ridiculous prices by any measure for the boxes and installation, and later for an upgrade to HD. Here are actual excerpts from email sent by Planet Satellite:

"the receiver would be $499"

when asked why Planet Satellite was charging $500 when we got it at Best Buy for $300, the company responded with:

"if we quoted you 500 it was in error. " and mentioned (over a month after the original price quote) that they had a price matching program--would have been nice to know from the beginning

the company's response after my posting

"Yes we may charge more than a super chain like Best Buy, yes our prices may not be the lowest."

So, which is it, do they charge more or was it an error? From my perspective, it seems like they are trying to take advantage of the customer.

The responses from the company after seeing the review made me more comfortable about posting it in the first place. The tone of the company was disturbing (you would not believe from the emails that they were talking to a customer). Had they merely said that they were sorry for the bad service and asked what they could do to fix it, you would not be reading this right now. Instead, they provided excuses relating to how hard business was and gave reasons why I should not have written the review. Finally, this is not about money or free installations, it's about the principle and holding companies accountable for their actions, or lack there of. That is, of course, the reason for reviews. My hope is that this review leads to positive changes at the company.
