Foooooood – I ate here for New Years Eve. OMG the food, OMG. From the lobster pot pie teaser to the chocolate desserts.. everything is super well thought out here. Super good. The portions are the correct size so you won't need a doggie bag though.. and I do like enjoying leftovers later.

One of my fave things in the world: cotton candy. And they have it. It's served with every dinner for dessert if you don't opt for one of their fancies. Such a chic, classy amazing place, it's a shame it's in Newton and not in Downtown Boston! I guess that's the price you pay for an affordable amazing gourmet dinner!

Terrible service and mediocre food – I don't understand this place at all. First of all, the atmosphere is like Vegas meets Newton, but not in a good way. Don't get me wrong, I love Vegas and I don't mind Newton, but somehow the mixture is not right. We arrived at the restaurant around 7:10 on a Sunday night figuring it wouldn't be too booked and we wouldn't need a reservation. The place was not close to being half full and they told us we would have to wait 30 minutes. That was ok. After 40 minutes we were told we would have to wait another 25-30 minutes. We looked inside the place, still not even half full. When my friend complained and said we were leaving, the hostess said she could seat us immediately. I understand making thing seems difficult to get into may give a more exclusive feeling, but Sunday night in Newton when the place was obviously not full? Anyway, the food was ok - probably overpriced for the location. There is no one - unless you are a cougar on the prowl that I would recommend this place to.

Incredible Steaks - Great Service - One of Boston's Best Restaurants (and not even IN Boston!) – What a great restaurant! Some of the best steaks we've had in Boston and anywhere for that matter. Steaks were cooked to perfection, great sides, great starters, wine, drinks. Service was perfect, professional but not stuffy on in your face. My water glass was never empty and they didn't leave finished plates on the table for too long after you eat like many places do. We ordered the shrimp app and the waiter told us (without our asking) that there were three pieces but they would happily add a 4th as we were a party of 4, how often does that happen!? This is worth trying regardless of where you are coming from, it's well worth the drive from downtown as it's better than most of the steakhouses there as well. Well worth trying!

Food and Atmosphere-- A+! – Just visited BOKX 109 this past weekend.

A group of 8 of us went -- I would definitely suggest reservations -- the place was hopping! It didn't effect our service though... we were taken care of from the time we stepped through the doors. (PS- FREE parking here AND they offer valet service as well!)

Back to our experience. For starters, we ordered the Calamari "Fritto Misto" (?) I think it was called... cooked to perfection and accompanied by the perfect amount of tangy piquillo peppers. We also ordered the "duck fat" fries... a MUST try and crowd favorite, (so we were told by our waiter) ... our table happily agreed with the general consensus... right down to the last bite. (we were served three variations of fries BTW - - I highly suggest the bolder of the fries - loved the spicy version.

As for the entree... I enjoyed the salmon, which was served with collard greens(!), white beans and "karma jitters", which I had no idea what this was, until our waiter informed me that this is a barbeque type sauce made from coffee beans! To my surprise -- quite tasty! I myself cannot vouch for the rest of the entrees, but per the looks of my fellow diner's plates -- they all seem to rank very high. Looking forward to going back to try the prime rib...

Lastly, though we passed on dessert -- I did eye the hemp seed ice cream and cheesecake. Maybe next time! Fun times had by all - big thanks to Aziz (sp?) and Joe for such taking great care of us!

Great Bar Meal – I met my brother for dinner at the bar, and we had a great meal, although we only ate appetizers and salads. I had a beet and goat cheese salad which had several perfectly cooked beet slices and a warmed slice of goat cheese, followed by a baked bean and pork belly appetizer - very Bostonian! My brother had the wedge salad with bacon, blue cheese and nuts followed by the carpaccio appetizer. The carpaccio was the highlight - high quality olive oil and mild beef flavor. The selection of wines by the glass was interesting and diverse with varying price points. The bartender, "Murph", was friendly and accommodating, offering tastes of wine to see which we liked. Plus, the Red Sox were winning when we left! The regular menu is EXPENSIVE - right up with the highest Boston has to offer.

Lousy Food – While staying at the Hotel Indigo recently I deciced to visit the steakhouse located at the hotel. The ribeye I ordered was undercooked on the inside and charred on the outside, tasteless and dry. The horseradish sauce provided with the steak was also tasteless. When my waiter asked me how my steak was, I tried to be polite and say it was just okay. After that he ignored me completely until he brought the check. The prices are way too high. If you are looking for a great dining experience, stay away and go into Boston.

Forget Bokx this needs a coffin – When paying top dollar there is very little room for error and teething problems cannot be excused. What could be a great vibe was a disgrace and left us sick at the stomache. Here's the issue list in no order: 1) cocktail menus yet to be printed; 2) service was ridiculously slow despite restaurant not being full; 3) key items on the menu not available (how difficult is it to make duck fat fries?); 4) $44 steaks came cold to the table; 5) management was blase about the mishaps and while offering free desserts did not follow-up; 6) nothing justifies the price point; and finally 7) phoned the management next day to discuss our disappointment as patrons; I am still waiting for them to return my call, perhaps typifying the type of service you can expect. Stay away from this place.

The Hotel Indigo's flashy steakhouse, complete with all-Americana nods to Chevrolets, martinis and good-ol' rock and roll, adds punches of style and excitement to the MetroWest dining scene. – It may be off the beaten path for cityfolk who like to stroll to their steaks, but Bokx 109 is worth the trip to Newton. Wtih a retro '70s chicness punctuated by low, sleek, tangerine-orange couches, it brings you back to steakhouses a la Sinatra, yet offsets the kitsch with a modern minimalist decor and a menu to salivate over. How about oysters on the half shell, chilled Maine lobster or colossal shrimp to start? Top it off with the kitchen's seven different cuts of steak (all from sustainably raised cattle) with five different sauces. Pack in the Devil Dog Lou for dessert, you'll want to walk all the way back to the city.
