I wish I had saved my money. Bought 2 packages of underarm and brazilian laser hair removal. 11 sessions later, I do not have any less hair than I did after the first one. I could have bought many waxing sessions for all that money I wasted. Facility is clean and the people are nice, but the laser does not work.
I previously had a laser treatment at a dermatologist's office, which was only semi-successful, so I was hesitant to give laser hair removal another try. A friend of mine and my sister’s had successful laser treatments at Aura and suggested that I give them a try.
It only took one visit to Aura Laser to make them earn my trust. Katy is very skilled-- definitely a perfectionist too. I've almost completed my first round of hair removal (I need 2 more sessions) and already the results are great. I have very very thick hair that had become coarse from shaving (particularly underarms), and I actually can't believe how much of a difference this treatment has made.
The other bright side: Their spa is super clean and super hygienic. This is a great, well-established, reputable business, NOT some sketchy laser clinic. The staff is trustworthy and professional (They really cared and took their time when treating me). I still would give this place an A rating and would have given them an A+ if they had a bigger and more comfortable reception area. Kelly
I purchased their groupon for 3 ipl treatments with 3 microderms back in July. They started me on the microderms to prep my skin and just last week I started on my 1st ipl fotofacial. The dark spots on my face are less pronounced already so I am happy so far about the outcome. I am hoping to get rid of all of them by the time I am finished with my 3rd ipl. The technician who treated me was very professional and explained to me how the treatment works. The pain level was very tolerable and I am booked for my next treatment in a couple of weeks. I have a friend who is getting the same package deal with Aura and she is satisfied with the service so I thought I’d post this review to share my experience with the public.
This is the WORST PLACE I have ever been.(Kirkland) Poor customer service, front dest employee Katie is very unprofessional she is annoyingly talkative... and unprofessional technicians. I have visited many places for the laser hair removal. I have never been treated like they did. They are running this place terribly and somebody needs to stop them. They need to treat people nicer. I HATED!... and never go back again ever...
Well I have read the many positive feed backs as well. If you have never been treated really nicely before, yes you might like these people... but no, just go ahead and compare Pro Sports Club SPA if you have ever been there... they are more educated and professional in many ways. You'll definetely see the difference... of course cheap treatment gets cheap treatments... I am not surprised!...
Seriously, if you have unwanted hair or wrinkles, this is your place. Don't wait. I came to Aura Laser Skin Care based on a friend’s recommendation. Getting a little older, I noticed some new wrinkles and sun damage (H2Ogirl, need I say more?). I wanted them GONZO! I called Aura Laser in Kirkland and made an appointment with Katie to give me a consultation about what to be done about these spots. She was super sweet, remembered me from a few months ago when I came in with my friend and was really attentive to my needs, wants, don't wants. She recommended a 2 microdermabrasions and 2 ipl laser treatments. I did the microderm in that moment. It was awesome!! I scheduled my laser treatment and was on my way with a fresh face.
She also recommended a prescription tube I forgot the name, wrinkle-rid (that's what I call it) and moisturizer as well as an Obagi line called exfoderm. As someone who has used Olay Moisturizer my whole life (thanks mom for ruining my skin), I was open to trying something new. This stuff is awesome. Sure, it's pricey by comparison to the Olay/Neutrogena stuff I've been using, but I can feel the cleanser tightening and see results.Subsequently, I've been back for my first laser facial treatment. It didn't hurt at all and I can already see some spots fading AND my 11 (between my eyebrows) is noticeably smaller.
I love Katie. I love my face. If you love your face, I highly recommend you make a call that can help you feel even better about your appearance.
I’ve been to a number of spa’s in the Seattle and east side areas, but none that compare to Aura Laser Skin Care in a variety of ways. I just purchased the groupon they have for the 3 ipl and 3 microderms. I first started going to them back in december of last year and have been ever since. Their facility is very clean and staff is professional and capable. They also care about their clients and do not rush through the treatments or force a sale. One particular example that comes to mind is the fotofacial treatment, which I had last year helped my skin tremendously. The sun spots on my face were reduced and bacame hardly noticeable and my skin looked and felt younger.
In addition, it’s important to me to not only trust the spa staff who perform the treatments, but to feel very comfortable in my surroundings. The technicians at Aura not only put your mind at ease, but they also go to great lengths in answering all of your questions and concerns. They are very knowledeable and they share that knowledge with the customer. The spa is a very welcoming place very clean, tidy and nicely decorated.
Dr. Garcia, their medical director, is always available on site to answer any questions or address any concerns I have. He spent a great deal of time with me on my first visit, offering expert knowledge on everything offered at his spa. Further, he’s a very pleasant man that has your best interest at heart. He and his staff are proactive, inasmuch as they share necessary information with you and ensure your understanding, with regard to your treatments and services. I personally felt the spa made me, the client, a top priority and I, without reservation, give Aura Laser Skin Care an A+ rating for their customer service and outcome.
My dad gave me a Groupon for 3 microderms, and 3 photofacial at Aura Skin Care Kirkland for my birthday. I booked an appointment 2 month in advance, and less than 24hrs before the appointment they called me and told me that my technician "had an emergency" and they had to reschedule my appointment, and the next available date would be in one month at an inconvenient time for me. Just like other reviewer said, I later on realized that the assign the technicians the same day of the appointment. (Yeah right.....technician emergency my tush!)
The front desk staff was rude if you're lucky to find anyone there, most of the time I had to wait until any technician got out of a treatment room so they could check appointments. I tried to book another appointment after my treatment and there was nobody at the front desk, a technician suggested to go and look for the receptionist or manager at the starbucks next door. I ask Katy the manager what was their system to keep track of appointments, I've been to other spas and some do punch cards, others keep track by marking their file at the computer, anyway....the manager laughed at my face and told me in a very rude sarcastic way: haha....What do you think we are? an icream store? punch cards.....ha..people....*then she looked at me like if a was mentally challenge* and walked away. I felt humiliated, it was a simple question!. Since she walked away annoyed by my question, I want home and then called the spa to make another appointment because my groupon was for 6 appointments I didn't want to loose the money. Nobody answered ( I guess they were at starbucks.....). I kept trying to call every other day, until finally somebody answer the phone just to put me on hold for 10 min.
The treatment was ok, not that great. The technician was a male that kept asking personal questions and talking about his personal life....I just wanted to relax.....oh well. So far most of the technicians I've had at Aura skin care are fresh out of the esthetics school ( I kind feel like a guinea pig, because sometimes they don't know what to do, so they go and look for the manager so she can tell them what to do next)
Please don't waste your money at this awful place.
I've purchased this Groupon for my wife at the end March 2012 (at that time there were mostly positive reviews here). She has experienced bad customer service including:
1. Getting an appointment rescheduled by Aura for no apparent reason (when she had booked the appointment a month in advance, they rescheduled it to an inconvenient time weeks from the original appointment). Four days before the appointment, they called about rescheduling claiming that the technician had an emergency, but my wife later found out they don't assign the technician until the day of the appointment.
2. Ineffective treatment (My wife noticed that the treatment does not hurt a bit - but it should, she had asked the technician if she could treat a few areas on her leg that she did not notice any improvements in - so she brought up her concerns to the technician)
3. Rude handling of customer's questions (The receptionist told my wife that she was being too demanding/asking the technicians too many questions and said to her "Why are you asking all these questions and telling the technicians what to do? Do you want to know how to operate the machine? Then you have to get a certification. If you keep asking these questions, we will terminate your services." She said this in a condescending manner while raising her voice at my wife in front of another customer). This was right after she had a friendly conversation with the technician during her appointment.
We feel that Aura is purposefully doing these actions to get Groupon customers to cancel so that Aura can keep Groupon customers' money without having to do further treatments.
Having read many other Groupon customer's negative reviews, I have reported this business to Groupon and I urge you to do the same.

Oh my god! Worst place ever.. Do not buy their groupon! The staff is rude, service is awfull... They almost make you feel like they are doing you a favor by scheduling your appt.. If they really do need my business why do they have groupons running? Pathetic experience, specially with Katy on the staff.. She can't be bothered with scheduling.. Should have read reviews before buying groupon.. I am canceling mine for sure.. After reading reviews below, just glad my scheduling did not work out, so I can cancel!
Beware - Do Not Visit this Spa! I received a laser treatment for my face at this clinic which caused permanent damage and scarring. I followed up with the clinic to schedule an appointment to remedy the damage, and the doctor would not even take my visit. I've spent and additional $1000 out of my own pocket to try to fix the mistakes this technician made. Very unprofessional service (including the front desk). Save yourself some money and do not go here.
