this place is gone!!!. walked by the other day & the salon is closed down!!! For lease signs on the window!!

I love this place!. I love this place! The service is efficient and cheap! The people are friendly, kind of walking to the Cheers Bar, ya know?

I had my nails done here after having a barrage of chemo treatments and I have to tell you, it was apparent how good and professional their employees are. Kudos!

EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT. THIS IS THE BEST SPA THAT I HAVE EVEN GONE TO. THE SERVICES ARE WONDERFUL, UNIQUE AND A TRUE EXPERIENCE. THE COUPLES SERVICES ARE GREAT FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO SHARE IN THE FUN. HATS OFF TO QWEN, WHO HAVE TRULY CREATED A SPA TO REMEMBER.

TAKE A TOUR, THE FRONT OF THE SPA DOES NOT FULLY HIGHLIGHT THE MYSTERIES BEHIND.

THIS IS A MUST GO.

Best Day Spa in the Bay Area!. My one hour massage was a gift, and for what I experienced at Sol y Mar, it's one of the best gifts I've ever received. The spa's ambience and decor adds to the whole aura of calmness - immediately putting one into a relaxed state of mind. I felt as if I was in the midst of an oasis by the sea, being pampered not just with a peppermint and herbal foot soak before my massage, but with the offer of fresh strawberries and lemon-mango water by my spa attendant.

The staff are all caring professionals - take it from someone who is a stickler for that because I manage a customer service organization! I recognize great service! The staff at Sol y Mar are all very friendly, attentive without being intrusive, and genuinely proud (as they should be) of the spa and their workplace.

I would highly recommend this spa. Sure the prices may be just a bit higher than other nearby places but what you get in return is priceless. This is the place to go when you want to escape, relax and be taken care of. Top Notch!

Serene. Beautiful and serene decor. Seems very clean. Loved the color scheme, it should have been carried through to all the rooms. The people are lovely, very helpful, kind and classy. I wish all the pros would have carried over into the service. I had my eyebrows done. Unfortunately, the job was botched. Thank goodness I have long bangs to cover up the bad job. I was debating as to give it 2 or 3 stars, but since it is a new business (3 months) they can still improve and either find or train better technicians...I hope.

Beautiful Spa with Exceptional Product and Technicians. I was so thrilled to find Sol Y Mar Day Spa conveniently located on Piedmont Avenue in Oakland. My friend and I booked a massage and a facial and fully relaxed and endulged in our treatments. The products they use are amazing. These people are definately at the top of their craft. I really enjoyed the beautiful tea service and the serene qualities that this spa has to offer. I can't wait for my next experience.

The Absolute Best Spa in the Eastbay!. The spa is THE BEST. Great services and meticulously clean. This is a great place to come with 2 friends and get the royal treatment. My friends and I left there floating on air. It was so relaxing. This would be great place to go on a date with a loved one, "girl day" with friends, or for the busy professional who would appreciate a private, upscale place with first class treatments. I gift certificate from this spa would make a great gift for the bride -to-be, graduate, Mother's Day, Father's Day, heck any day. Just to be able to go to a place that is serene and very comfortable and have a great massage, or facial, body treatments, or meditate in the waterfall room is priceless. I can't say enough good things about the servcie and ambiance. I'd highly recommend this to everyone. I'm hooked, you will be too. Do it for YOU. You're worth it.

Instant relaxation. This spa is wonderful ... very relaxing and well designed. My friend and I simply got mani/pedis and everyone who works there seemed super friendly and attentive in making this experience as comfortable as possible. They served fresh fruit and sorbet as we were getting our nails done ... so delicious. They gave us a tour of the facilities when we arrived and the cocoon looks absolutely fantastic and I can't wait to try it. I also really thought the "guy's room" was cool and will be recommending it for my husband. Next time I'm in the area, I'll definitely be stopping by.

Best Day Spa, Great Customer Service. I had a wonderful experience at Sol-y-mar Day Spa. I had the body scrub/seaweed mud cocoon wrap. It was my first time ever having this type of treatment and I must say it was Wonderful. Vivian was very professional and attentive to my every need. I would highly recommend this service.
