Fond memories. I am visiting in San Diego, where my Grandparents used to live (they died in their late 90s about 10 years ago). Cafe Pacifica was one of my grandfather's favorites, so I went with a friend for a Saturday night dinner. It's become a little dusty - a bit too much like I remember it - and the menu doesn't convey a lot of excitement. The room is a little too bright (I recall the little white lights being more of a contrast in a darkened room). and the wine list is good, but not stellar. And so why four stars? The service was impeccable and very attentive. The food was very well prepared and presented. And it was a great place to eat excellent food and converse. If I return to San Diego, I'll be back.

Incredible Bouillabaisse!. I went here a while back with my boyfriend and his parents. Everyone was extremely happy with their food. I had the bouillabaisse and it was the best that I have ever had. It was loaded with perfectly cooked seafood.

The service was fantastic; perfectly attentive and informative.

The interior seemed a bit dated, but who cares when the food was so good!

A great find in Old Town San Diago. This is one of the better restaurants I've sampled in San Diego. Service is attentive, but not overbearing; the wine list is good including about 30 wines by the glass. The meal I had (special of the day) was superb. Beautifly presented seared Ono with julianne cut assorted veggies and sauteed spinach, pearl onions and fingerling potatos. The sauce on the fish was really great and very unique - a somewhat sweet wine reduction that was a perfect compliment to the fish. The prices are no bargain, but are very consistent with other restaurants in San Diego and the food was better than many. I will definitely return to this place.

Who needs La Jolla.... We never miss an opportunity to eat here when traveling to San Diego (from Texas). Food is outstanding and the wine list is even better.
