Comfortable decor and homemade kabobs bring diners closer to a Persian dinner table than most will likely get. – The stretch of Irving between Fifth and 10th streets may not lack for restaurants, but this cozy eatery fills a niche not satisfied by the selection of Mexican, American, Indian, Thai, Italian and even Eritrean places. Owner Nazila Talai took the recipes for dishes like barg (sliced fillets of Niman Ranch beef), koobideh (ground beef and lamb) and kashk bademjan (roasted eggplant) straight from the kitchens of her mother and grandmother. The resulting Persian cuisine is served in a warm room full of paintings, water fountains, fine rugs and even a fireplace; translating to a décor that's almost villa-like with European and Middle Eastern accents.
Best Persian food in SF! – The food is incredible! If you want great Persian food at a great price, this is the ONLY spot in SF. I've tried many Persian restraunts in my time and the food here has me coming back for more and more. The meat is all organic and grass-fed. Delicious and beautiful presentations with everything I have had so far. Service and atmosphere were excellent. It's a family owned business and the owners have done a great job to make Lavash friendly and cozy. I love this place and I highly recommend it!
Try the Lavash special for two if you are on a date.
Shiraz wine with dinner is a must.
The Baklava (not sure if I spelled that right) cake and Persian ice cream for desert is outstanding.
