Won't go back again – A memorably awful service experience. The place was close to empty when we arrived, now we understand why! Not sure if this establishment has service management on weeknights, but if there is they're not doing their job very effectively. The food itself was fair or better & it could have earned 3 stars based on food & drink alone. However the wait/order staff were dishonest about an error they made with an order, and attempted unconvincingly to blame it on us (the customer). There's nothing to leave a bad taste in your mouth after a restaurant meal quite like a bald faced lie delivered straight into your face by an employee, with eye contact, & with fellow staff jeering and making rude hand gestures in the background to boot! This place really needs to appoint some strong supervisors to keep close tabs on their staff's conduct & ensure customers aren't being mishandled. Ugh, I hope they didn't spit in our food too. It will be interesting to see if Giovanni's survives the economic downturn.
WONDERFUL ITALIAN FOOD – MY HUSBAND AND I HAD JUST DRIVEN CROSS-COUNTRY AND WERE LOOKING FOR NEW RESTAURANTS CLOSE TO OUR NEW HOME. WE STUMBLED ACROSS THIS PLACE AND ARE SO HAPPY WE DID!! THIS IS SOME OF THE BEST ITALIAN FOOD WE HAVE EVER HAD...AND MY HUSBANDS FAMILY IS SECOND GENERATION AMERICAN/ITALIAN!! I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND TRYING A CANDLELIT DINNER DOWNSTAIRS OR CHECKING OUT THE FOOTBALL GAMES UPSTAIRS. EITHER WAY, IT'S A GREAT TIME!!
one of the worst places i have ever eaten – This was one of the worst places I have eaten at in years. I took a date there after a great movie. The food was horrible, undercooked, and I had asked for no onions on my date's sandwich. It took over a half an hour to make our food and get it out to us, and they brought me the wrong pasta dish, and her sandwich had onions on it. When I asked to have the sandwich replaced, two waitresses gave me an attitude and basically told me they were too busy to deal with it, even though there was only one other couple eating there, and were about to pay at the time (I didn't even mention the pizza to them), and it then took another 20 minutes for them to make another sandwich. Every time my beer or her wine was done, it would take many minutes to get another, while they stood around, and kept going upstairs to talk to people at the bar. The glasses, silverware, and plates all looked like they had barely been washed,, the sandwich was slopped together and barely stayed in one piece, even though it was very skimpy. The noodles for the pasta had not been drained, and the sauce was half water. I saw the waitresses rudely turn down two groups of 3 and 5 people about a half hour before they closed so they could go to a party, and the pool tables upstairs didn't work or have out of order signs and the bartender gave us an attitude when we told her that and she refused to give us our money for the pool game back. It was one of the worst and dirtiest restaurants I have eaten at---EVER!!!!----and it ruined an otherwise wonderful evening.
