Best clams and scallops we've ever had! – We arrived ten minutes before the 11 AM opening, which turned out to be a good move. We were the second party in the queue, which grew to about 20 people by the opening. We're sixty years old, have been all around the world, but have never had better clams or scallops. BUT BRING CASH! They only accept that or a personal check (whatever that is).

North Shore landmark is a nationally-recognized Mecca for fried clams. – In Short
During summertime, this no-frills seafood shack enjoys lengthy lines that spill out into the parking lot, as foodies come from all over the country to try what are often labeled as the world's best fried clams. Depending on the season and whether there's a shortage of the bivalves, native clam platters can run upwards of $17. Other fresh seafood like shrimp, scallops and haddock are served fried and with onion rings, fries and cole slaw.

Who needs Woodmans? – While visiting Boston, I stopped by the Clam Box for my yearly fried clam fix. I've eaten at Woodmans, SeaWitch and Kellys but the extra miles to the CB were worth it! Ordered the whole clam mini-meal with onion rings, it was a bit pricey at $12 but worth every penny. I quickly devoured the large mound of lightly fried, crispy clams and rings. Very well done, the clams were a bit small, sweet and not greasy at all. Service was casual and the dining room is typical seafood restaurant stuff. Can't wait to make it back next year, yumm!
