Best Salon on the North Shore – I have been shopping around for a hair salon for the past several months. I have tried out many, the problem was my first time there often was my last. Either it was impossible to make an appointment, or ended up waiting up to an hour after my schuduled appointment, sometimes having to leave due to time constraints. I was looking for a relaxing experience that allowed me to take a break from my hectic day and be pampered. I have found what i was looking for at Radiance Salon. For me, price is really not an issue, and believe that you get what you pay for in terms of atmosphere and quality of your hair cut. Radiance Salon in Marblehead and Salem are hands down the best salons on the North Shore. It is the only Salon I have ever been to that it really does not matter who cuts my hair, I always leave extreamly pleased with the end result. The staff is personable, professional and cater to whatever the clients needs may be.
Pros: The mini-facial, a definate must. Its Free!
Cons: Nothing really. Well..If I had to put something. Parking can be a pain in the ass at the Salem location, at times.
Not worth it – I recently came in to get my hair done after not having visited the salon for quite some time. Shame on me for not looking at the price list when I sat down, but I was in total shock when I was rung up. I should have figured it out when I asked them what it would cost for an updo and make-up on my wedding day and they wanted over $300!!!!! This was over $150 more then they charged a friend just a couple of years ago.Over the past 3 years I think the prices went up close to 50%!!!!
I just don't think they are anything special or as 'high-end' as they lead you to believe...I mean read their response to a customer below and you will see what I mean.
Between the attitude and high prices, I will never go back!
Eye Brow Wax turned ugly – I only went to this Salon a few times, and that was all I needed. I went to have my brows shaped, and they nearly waxed them off. Get this, they weren't even sympathetic or sorry, they made me feel like it was my fault for not being more specific.
I asked for the Owner, who I know personally to call me. But the front desk kept insisting they did everything in their power to make me happy. 6 months later; I am still trying to grow my eyebrows back.
You have been warned.
Professional & Great Services – I have been a client at Radiance for over two years now & have always received professional salon services and attention. Jessica is AWESOME! After two years with her, she knows my hair and I feel like a million bucks everytime I leave the salon. Thanks Radiance!
A Great Experience! – I recently moved to the northshore area and was very aprehensive about finding a new stylist. One of my co-workers had a great hair cut and i was curious to know where she had got it done because i was in desperate need of some grooming! She had told me about this new salon in downtown salem and i decided to give it a try, I had one of the best hair cuts I have ever had and booked my next appointment. I recommend this salon to anyone in need of a relaxing experience and a great hair cut.
To Kandy H. of Salem – Hi Kandy. I'm so sad that you had to go to the trouble of being a storyteller with facts. We do not have "highschool" girls working for us, all the ladies are licensed and professional. We are a high end salon and sometimes we are not for some clients but that's fine with us. Yes you came in for an updo and we gave you one that you were extremely satisfied with. You happened to be the last client of day. We have always closed at 4pm on Saturdays for the past couple of years now. The girls ended up staying late for you but had no problem with it because you were a loyal client of ours. We received a message around 5:30pm the same day from you saying "my husband hates it"...nothing about how you loved it when you left the salon. Like I said before, we did not DODGE you, there was no one here because we were closed! Because your HUSBAND did not like it, you then did not like it and said your husband demanded HIS money back. Unfortunately we provide servcies to our guests in our chairs, we cannot guarantee that a spouse or significant other will love it. Your stylist that you sat with from the very beginning (you know who I'm talking about) was always accomodating for you. But I will let her know that since she's part of the team and has had over 10 years experience in hair,,,,I will let her know for you Kandy that she is "uneducated" and "unprofessional". By the way, we do not and have never gave out "goodie pak (pack) so that's probably the reason why you never got one. As for the 20% off card...the person checking you out probably did not run it through the first time because you're supposed to hand them the card that "someone' gave you as a special invitation to our salon. We provide many complimentary services such as; last minute cancellations without a fee because we understand things happen, no charges for bounced checks because we know things happen,etc . Although the team ranges from ages 19-50, thank you again for calling us young,,we love it!
LIES LIES LIES – To the Staff At Radiance: Response to your comment!
This is another reason why I stopped going to your salon, instead of calling me, to work things out. You types LIES! In fact, a client of my husband, I met that night, was there with his wife. That day, Andrea was working late, because they too were going to a Christmas Party in Boston. So do you mean to tell me YOU ARE NOT OPEN late any NIGHTS in DECEMBER! Gee, New Years Eve and Christmas Eve should be profitable.
In fact, I had tears in my eyes, and Jessica took over after the first hairdresser failed and she saw I was crying. And you are right, Jessica did a better job than the prior. But it still wasn't what I wanted or liked. What women would want to go to a Christmas party looking like Shirley Temple? And yes, the prior girl agreed she did too MANY PROMS.
And as for my relationship with Andrea, my hairdresser. That bond of trust was ruined when she took a blind eye to what was going on with my hair. I think most people would agree, it was a bit unprofessional. An entire room of People saw me that night very upset. And that will not be hard to justify or prove. My husbands opinion should send a signal to you as a business. Being that he makes me feel like I am on top of the world and he knew something went seriously wrong when he saw my face that night. And yes, His opinion of me is important, as a women and a wife. But being that you are all YOUNG, none of you would have a real appreciation for that.
