No clue what customer service is. Poor management. – Worst expierience ever. Made reservations for my family for Thanksgiving thinking it would be a nice change. Wrong. For one, they completley overbooked the place. It was RIDICULOUS. It took almost 20 minutes just to get to the MANDATORY coat check. The upper and lower lobby were FILLED with people waiting on reservations. Complety disorganized. No staff to tell you where to go to even check in. You were forced to ask other patrons what to do. It took another 10 minutes to fight our way up the second floor dining room. Once there, i spent yet another 10 minutes trying to get past people wating around to find the ONE hostess they had in the buffet room. I gave my name to a woman who's entire greeting was "Name?" and then went and found my family where we were pinned against a wall for another 20 minutes till our name was called.
They crammed as many tables as possible into a room that clearly was not big enough. We had to turn sideways past table after table to get to our tiny table. Despite being a party of 4, the tables they were using were way too small. The folding legs underneath made it impossible for two of the 4 people to sit against the table. I had to sit almost sideways in my seat. It gets worse...
The linen tablecloth was clean, but damp. Apparently drying them after washing was too much of a hassle. The people next to us had the same issue.
We order drinks from a waitress who was less friendly then the ones you find at Denny's. 10 minutes later we get our drinks and then begin the nightmare that is the buffet line. Once again, more issues. For one, they have a line on each side of the table that ends where the turkey and prime rib are carved. But since two lines end at one place, it was chaos because people were either being over polite and letting the other line go first delaying their own line or people were being rude and stepping in front of others. Poor planning. Then i finally get to the turkey carver and he put's one piece of turkey on my plate and says "Next!". I felt like i was back in the chow line in the military.
So now we have been here over an hour despite having reservations and i FINALLY get to eat. The food was decent and there was a good variety. But having to go back to that nightmare line made going up for seconds something to dread. Our waitress was nowhere to be found, so our drink glasses sat empty the rest of the time. Nobody came to clear our used plates so we now had a stack of empty plates taking up even more room on the table.
We finally saw our waitress and flagged her down. I asked for the check and she did not even ask if we wanted coffee nor did she ask if something was wrong despite the fact she had not checked up on us even ONCE in the over an hour we were there. I said "It would have been nice to have had some drink refills and all these plates cleared". To which she replied "We are really busy sir" and then stormed off. Ugh.
We get the check to which a MANDATORY 18% gratuity was applied. 18% for 4 people? And i had to pay 18% for the WORST service i have ever encountered in the last 20 years?
Management clearly is only concerned with profits. Why else would you overbook a place so badly and have no regard for customer service. They were understaffed, badly. Probobly another cost saving meausure. And why do you hire rude, incompetent waitstaff? People at other tables around us agreed. In fact not a single person we spoke to which was well over a dozen had anything nice to say. You could hear many people walking out talking about how lousy the service was.
Avoid this place. Do not support an establishment who puts profits ahead of the most basic in customer care. They are only out to make money off of your misery. Thank you for ruining my Thanksgiving!
The Hostess very unprofessional.... – We had made reservation for a 75th birthday party for our mother and we were a party of 20. The food was nothing to brag about, however the waitresses were good. Popovers were over cooked and my prime rib was served at room temperature. One of our party members ordered duck and it came out smelling terrible and they had to send it back and ended up ordering something else. To top off the night the hostess "Dawn" came to the table twice, the first time I thought it was to check and see how things were going, but then the second time was to ask us to leave because she needed the tables. She was told we had just received the check and were still finalizing the numbers. We were there less than two hours from when we sat and just spent close to $400 on a special event for our family and Dawns actions were unacceptable. Dawn was rude and her customer service skills leave much room for improvement. It was not a good experience on a special occasion and Angelica’s is NOT the place to enjoy memorable moments of your special event.
Dont Insult the host – From the beginning when we arrived the cashier was involved in a conversation w a friend that she did not want to break for a customer we waited a long time before she would acknowledge our presence, then immediately she says we don't have reservations (with out looking at the book) .I see our name there and point it out to her ,she replies go sit down ill call you , ignoring her as her attitude made it clear she didn't like minorities ,,,moving on to the dinner the "poppers" basically a waste of time ( its an air filled baked biscuit that has no inside ). The dinner itself was excellent we were a party of 10 everyone liked the food and price averaged $30 per person,
But when i came time to pay the bill the waitress showed her personal prejudices once again, she asked who wanted the bill, i raised my hand and she then said no really who wants this,4 times I told her to hand me the bill , I looked at the waiter as to tell him get her to stop the crap, but she decides to explain the bill to a teenager at our table so they can explain it to me ( like it needed explaining at all) So in summary the food is good but i wont tolerate the good old boy demeanor of times past so they have lost my business
Charged $1.50 for a popover – Spent $125.00 for dinner for 4. Asked for a second popover for my mother-in-law, and was told they give one per person for free, then charge $1.50 for a second one. Food was really good. Service so-so. Won't be back....
wow what a meal – Wow what a meal. went there with my wife for her birthday.. first time there. reccommended by a friend.
First there came around with a bunch of goodies. a popover they called it. never seen one before, then a chicken wing, then a fritter. then a peice of spinach pie, all delicous. first time i ever got some thing free in a restaurant. and the meal was great. i had a thick cut steak. the menu said a pound and it sure was. my wife the boston schrod, haddock i think. she said it fresh and cooked perfectly. the service was good and the waitress was pleasant. angelicas is now in my top 10 places to eat. we'll be back soon
If you feel like waiting for bread and water this is the place – Service was horrible waited so long to be served food sucked payed alot of money for a little meal do not go here
Great place if you're not on a diet... – A frequented watering hole to my family. Ninty percent, it's great. In 10 years, I can think of ONE not so great visit. They were just too busy. While you peruse the menu, you are plied with great appetizers. Food is good and plentiful. Expect to carry a doggie bag. Reservations recommended.
Great!! – My wife and I eat at Angelica's often and it never fails to be terrific! It is easily our favorite restaurent.
Service is always fine and the freebies elegant. No noise either! LBD
RUN , DO NOT WALK – RUN , NO SERVICE , HELP DON'T CARE, SPENDED 400.00 FOR A NIGHT OF HELL.
SPENDED 2 HRS WAITING AFTER BEING TOLDED 1 HR. WAIT.
30 MINS AT TABLE W/ NO WATER OR DRINKS
WHILE FOOD WAS BEIN SERVED , WAS TOLDED " NO BAKED POTATOES"
NICE TO HAVE FRIES W/ A PRIME RIB
HORRIBLE SERVICE , BETTER SERVICE AT MAC DONALD'S
It can't be WORSE ! – I was there for Mothers of Multiples Holiday Party. From the first moment, there was nobody there to welcome and help you find your party. You just had to guess where to go !
Everything there was cold even the coffee ! The dinner was buffet and had been paid $30 for each one of us. I should admit that the appetizer was not bad but the dinner... It couldn't be worse ! Everything tasted bland and was cold. The drink was the bad water of Middleton and nothing else. The dessert was a very dry cheesecake .
I WILL NEVER go back again.
