Just another one of those places – Boring, boring, boring! Ho-hum food for tastless eaters. Seems to be the latest gathering place for old folks. Like my mom when she got old, lost most of her sense of taste so anything she ate tasted good to her. Like Burbank needed another lackluster diner, there's already too many.
Like eating at Denny's only worse – I would think that if you're going to open a restaurant like this, you would want to make it special to set it apart from other similar restaurants in the same town. Otherwise, what would attract customers back to eat again? Well, I ate here and there was nothing special or attractive about the establishment, service or the food that would entice me back for another meal here. I was so unimpressed by Theresa's that a decision to eat here again or someplace else like Denny's could be decided with a flip of a coin, there is no advantage! It appears as though there was a sufficient effort made to make the building look attractive both inside and out but what happened to the two most important issues, the food and the service? Being local, I've driven by many times and witnessed that a large majority of the clientele that eat here are our beloved senior citizens. What this really says is, that the food here, mainly comfort food, appeals to the older generation whose taste sensitivity diminishes as they age. And since it is rarely crowded, those who refuse to wait at Lancer's, the senior citizen haven of Burbank, they can just walk right in here. It's not to late for Theresa's to raise the stakes before it's too late and build a restaurant business that many people would enjoy. Time to revamp the menu with more and better choices, use fresh ingredients whenever possible and kick the service up a notch. Unfortunately, most people who are disappointed where they go out to eat, never go back, a wound that won't heal. Usually lost customers are lost for good and I may be one of them. I may or may not give this establishment another try sometime but only if I hear of something good happening here.
Trying to be but failing to do – Theresa's took over a location that had been a Chinese restaurant for several years. After the pricey Chinese restaurant finally closed down, there was hope that a new proprietor would re-open this establishment with something good to offer the community of Burbank. So, along comes Theresa's, basically just another run-of-the-mill, below average "family restaurant". Burbank already has enough of these type of eateries. Tally Rand (this is the best of the list), Hill Street Cafe, Lancer's, Harry's, Coral Cafe, and Denny's. Now there's Theresa's, and after sampling this restaurant twice, they really do need to raise the bar, especially with a similar but much better restaurant, one block away. I obviously haven't tried their whole menu but the food I did eat there tasted like they are using frozen and packaged products rather than fresh. The service is inconsistant and some items just seemed to pricey for what you get. I will not recommend this restaurant to my friends and have no plans of eating here again. If you decide to give it a try, good luck, you just may eat there on a lucky day.
Good solid food – One of the best in Burbank, but stay away from the Egg Foo Yung - doesn't appear to be made from eggs. It was more of a cornmeal patty. The sauce and veggies however, were delicious.
