The brightly painted, heavily illustrated, old-school touring trolly permanently parked outside Maria's Taco X-Press has been slinging high-quality muffins to adoring fans since July 2008. While these fat, moist, tasty muffins also appear in coffee shops and cafes all over the city, making a trip down South Lamar is worth it. Not only for the fresh muffins, some of which bulge with blueberries, others with cream cheese centers, some are gluten-free, some double chocolate. There are also yogurt parfaits layered between muffin slices, and fat ice cream (Amy's) sandwiches made with muffin tops.
Best Muffins In Austin!!. Great Muffins, very cool and friendly people, reasonably priced. Very nice local business worth supporting. I love that they use all natural and organic ingredients, but the flavor doesn't suffer. Moist, sweet and flavorful like muffins should be. Keep it up and we will be by every day!
