Great Midtown Destination for the Ladies – Just went to the comedy night on Thursday for the first time. Awesome local comics. Saturday's are the best for dancing and a awesome DJ. Late 20's and early 30's, mostly ladies, but guys are welcome. Non Smoking (thank god) Plenty of seats and great bartenders. Karaoke on Wednesday's is way fun with Bartender Kerry
Bellissima is better than average... – I was tired of driving from VA to Al so I dropped into Bellissima, looked good but hard to meet people. It was kindof hard to get people to even look away from the group they were in. I started talking about being in the navy to the bartender and then people started talking to me. Lol I felt like I was in highschool just a bit. The drinks were awesome and after people warm up to you then they are too. Ha, I ended up having a couple friends from there and an invite to stay at their place for the night instead of my hotel room. I didn't go but it was nice to hear some southern hospitality. Also the crowd was mid 30's and up, I guess people my age in ATL are broke lol.
Nice, but not niceq – I am bi who likes fem girls very much. I am definitely into females, but not females who want to be males. I am a fem female who is open to what others like. I don't have to be into what you are into to be friendly. Felt like I was an outsider as soon as I came into the place. I attempted a couple of different times, but was really made to feel out of place. Everyone seemed to know each other and really tried to keep newcomers like me on the outside. I am not boasting when I say that I am a very attractive woman who is also very friendly. I just felt like since I was new and came alone that others were really scrutinizing me from afar. Would have liked to have met other fem female, but they seemed to be non-existent.
Not so trans friendly after all – Okay, so I take my west coast boyfriend out to experience the southern qu*er scene and good lawd, was I embarrassed. My boyfriend hasn't been greeted with a hello ladies in over 15 years. To add insult the bar back was rude and apparently in the south a screwdriver consists of vodka and tonic. Go figure.
Bellissima Rocks! – Bellissima is a great bar and unlike some locals think, its a great space for MEN and women. Bellissima has lots of great seating areas, some more quaint than others. Also, a friendly bar staff (to include two working owners) who are very attentive to the customer and the detail and cleanliness of the bar. They have an EXCELLENT beer and wine selection and also pour from whatever bottle you may need. Check out their themed evenets - Anna's SWA-RE's are not to be missed.
Lesbian & Gay hotspot in the heart of Midtown Atlanta! – Bellissima's chic atmosphere attracts an eclectic mixed clientele. Lipstick / high fashion gay men & women, open minded straights and celebrities alike, make this unique Midtown lounge Atlanta's best kept secret! This local favorite has already become a 'party destination' for travelers from LA to New York and abroad. They offer a great wine and champagne selection, full bar & Italian small plates. Check it out!
Taking over the former Miss Q's space, this Midtown looker is gussied-up and ready to play. – In Short
Midtown beaut of a bar at Amsterdam Walk is the latest contender in the city's Sapphic saloon stakes and a refreshing change of pace from when this was home to Miss Q's. While lacking its baby brother bar's bounce and frenetic fun, this chic elder sister is a burnished beauty. Gone are the beer-stained couches, slag-covered walls and dark, smoky back bar. Restored with deep blue paint and fashionable fixtures, high leather stools, trendy tables and a light granite bar where foxy bartenders pour perfectly mixed drinks. There is a cushy, curtained area for lounging up front and pool table under a sparkling sign in back. To lure crowds to this fresh hotspot, owners host theme nights during the week, including Thursday boys nights and wine tastings, while on weekends fun-loving folks seek out diversions. And like any great neighborhood bar, you never know who'll show up for luscious libations.
