Do you have all night? You will need it... – Great for a romantic date - I ate on the first floor - and the ambience was incredible. Dinner service was long - great for going through different courses, bad because we were 30 mins late to the Celtics game and we arrived at 5:30 pm for dinner. (Game was at 7:15)...
Veal Parmesan was incredible, quite possibly the best I have ever had. Ended up eating more of my date's meal (that's what he had ordered) than my own meal. He was nice though and ate more of my meal (or maybe he was just super hungry?) Make sure you spring for a bottle - not a glass - because you will end up having at least two.
I think that its a good third date place, not a first date place because the slow dining experience is something that works best when you have been on a few dates and know you both want to be there for that long... otherwise its like beating the dead horse of bad dates.
Sorry we went. – The North End holds so many wonderful restaurants and we love to try new ones every visit. Passing by Euno's we were attracted by the lovely front door and decided to try it out.
It was early - 5:15PM - and we (party of four) were the only patrons on the first floor. Our waiter was extremely pleasant and spent a great deal of time describing several dishes on the menu to us. He gave us a little time to think and return promptly to take our orders. So far, so good.
We were having a pleasant time with the fresh bread and oil. We had opted not to have appetizers and/or salads in order to save time as we were going to a 7PM hockey game. After a while we noticed many, many dishes being transported downstairs (apparently a birthday party was in progress), but no dishes coming our way. It was after 6PM and we hadn't been served.
I went to the kitchen area to find our waiter to find out what the story was. All they would say was 'it's coming'.
At approximately 6:20PM - an hour after our order was taken and many more dishes went downstairs - my husband informed the waiter that if our order wasn't on the table in 5 minutes we were leaving. Two minutes later we had our meals. We ate quickly in order to get over to the Garden for our game so we really didn't enjoy our meal at all, which was a shame since the food was very good.
At no time did any member of the staff or management come to our table to apologize for the wait or try to explain what the problem was. And the usual practice of asking how our food was after it was delivered was ignored as well. However, when they saw my husband speaking to the couple at the table next to us the waiter quickly came over and stood between them...probably afraid of what my husband was telling the new couple!
I found this experience so upsetting that for the first time ever I did not leave a tip.
VERY disappointed and would not recommend this place to anyone.
More Style Than Substance – This is a beautiful restaurant. Even the entrance door fixture seemed deliberate. Our host greeted us by poking his head through a thick red velvet curtain that separates the doorway from the dining room and said "reservation?" then went to check his records. I felt strangely privileged when we were permitted to follow him past the curtain into the restaurant. We were seated in the basement which has a brick vaulted ceiling and gives one the feeling of being in a Romanesque church. A working fireplace makes the space especially cozy although things are a little too tight. Our table was next to the stairs and servers bumped my chair several times. I'd have to say that this was the worst seat in the house.
Our severs were very attentive. First we were brought bread with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and freshly grated cheese. The bread was light and fresh but not very tasty or hearty. Tuscan bread or a sturdy Italian would have been preferable. Next we were served an antipasto (16). This included three Italian cold cuts and fresh mozzarella cheese with basil and other baby greens. The portion was somewhat disappointing but in all other ways this was excellent. My companion ordered halibut with risotto(28) and was generous enough to let me sample. The fish was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The risotto was delicious but anything loaded with butter usually tastes good. I took another sip of red wine to protect my heart which was really useless because I had ordered veal (26). This was exactly as one would expect, covered in melted cheese and red sauce. The only flair was a side of unusually large rigatoni. Unfortunately my meal was slightly tepid. Overall this is a good restaurant which looks like it should be a lot better.
Earlier is better; great for traditional dishes – My wife and I arrived just before 7 on a Saturday night in mid-August without reservations. Host seated us upstairs within 5 minutes at a wall-side table with open window view out onto Salem St. Waiter was a charming little gay fellow who was quite attentive at first. Prices quite reasonable, dishes decent and authentic, no fru-fru crapola. Moderate wine list with good range of choices. Ordered Chianti Classico Reserva at $65 - hard to find at that price in most restaurants. Cheaper bottles available too (Chianti, Chianti Classico, other varieties Italian, domestic, and from elsewhere). I splurged - wife heading overseas for 2 years; we'll meet in capitals of Europe just every other month. *sigh* Lovely wine, needed time to breath so we paced ourselves.
Romantic, well-lighted (except for fluorescent light flickering spastically). Understaffed, so once place began to hum (8:00), our cute little gay waiter could not possibly be as attentive as he was before. He apologized in a happy, animated, gay sort of way. We skipped coffee and pousse cafes (rather annoying) to get them at the Millennium Hotel instead (where we watched Big Papi bat a grand slam).
I just saw my wife off at Logan in Terminal E. For the sake of romance and aching hearts, give Euno a try, but no later than 7:30.
Great service, great food! – Yesterday marked me and my girlfriend's third trip to Euno. Each and every time we have experienced nothing less than exceptional service. The food has been consistent and tasty. The potato gnocchi is excellent along with any of their chicken dishes. We made reservations for 8pm on a Saturday night and did not have to wait at all. The place was busy though, and I would highly recommend making reservations ahead of time.
Terrible Experience – My wife and I ate here this past Saturday night. We had reservations at 8:30PM and got seated just after 9PM. It was all downhill from there. We witnessed three tables get up and leave prior to being waited on. I am not sure what was worse, the steak I had or the service. The atmosphere was nice. We sat downstairs. That is the ony good thing I can say about this place. Every table around us (4-5) was complaining about the service. After waiting well over an hour for our entrees, they arrived cold. I ordered the skirt steak ($23). I don't think it was more than 6 oz.. It was the worst meal I have eaten out ever. You could see the chaos on the workers faces as they scrambled around trying to keep up with the demands of their customers. That was the last they will see of me at Euno.
Romantic and Authentic – I lived in Italy for a bit, and we went to Euno because the sign was identical to the sign of my favorite restaurant in Arezzo. Granted, this is a superficial reason to go to a restaurant, but I had to figure out some way to start choosing restaurants to go to in my new neighborhood, seemed as good as any. The restaurant was fantastico. The upstairs was full, so we had the downstairs all to ourselves. The charming waiters sat us by the fireplace in the amazing brick basement room. If you have a choice, sit down there, the cielings and wine wall add to the experience, to be sure.
We shared the calamari which came cooked just perfectly and in a light tomato and olive sauce that was so good my boyfriend finished it with a spoon. I got the putanesca, which also had a (different) light tomato sauce on it--very rarely do I have a dish with tastes that I can't identify, but the dish had so many subtleties there was no way to pick out each one. At the end of our meal we shared the tiramisu and it was, yet again, without a doubt as fantastic as anything you'll find in Italy.

Nestled into one of the North End's romantic stone-paved side streets, Euno is a small, dimly-lit restaurant with textured brick walls, deep colors and a glowing fireplace: an atmospheric gem. The waitstaff is impeccably pleasant and welcoming. Seating is very limited--good if you're in the mood for a quiet evening, bad if you haven't made reservations.
Intimate, traditional Italian cuisine. Start with a generous bowl of tender steamed mussels, spicy and very tasty in a light, Dijon white wine sauce. The pappardelle with pheasant and fennel ragu lacks flavor and is rather spare for the price. However, the duck with lentil and stewed shallots is divine, with a juicy grilled breast and leg braised to a flavorful richness. To finish, try the oh-so-smooth creme brulee or the peach crisp , or choose from a competent list of coffee drinks and dessert liqueurs.
Best appetizer ever! – My husband and I dined at Euno's last evening and thoroughly enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and service. The restaurant is small, however that adds to the romantic feel. Tables are not too close together, so customers have their privacy. The evening was warm so the front windows were totally opened which added to the European feel of the place.
We began with stuffed artichoke hearts which were stuffed with goat cheese and herbs, wrapped in proscuitto and grilled (I believe). This appetizer was so delicious I could've ordered two more with pasta for my main course. We decided that it was the best appetizer we ever had and, since we dine out frequently, we've had many appetizers!
I had linguini with white wine/garlic clam sauce. The pasta was homemade and fresh. The clams were sweet and tender. The sauce was light in the oil department and just right in the garlic department. The combination of these ingredients produced an exceptionally tasty dish that was not heavy due to the lightness of the noodles. I usually never can finish pasta dishes, but I had no problem with this delightful preparation.
My husband had the pasta special of the evening. It was lobster/crab stuffed ravioli with a fresh, light tomato sauce with shrimp and scallops. There was more than a hint of spiciness to the dish, but it complimented the seafood perfectly and did not overpower. The portion was generous and my husband raved about its tastiness.
The waitstaff were courteous, professional, and prompt without hovering or hurrying. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a truly exceptional dining experience.
