Yuck – The pate was dog food, we had two escargot in a sea of onion, the meat was full of grissle and the vegetables were like those you get on a flight. Overall, the worst food I've had in Boston, or any restaurant for that matter. $100 for a $10 meal. Even the bread was the least edible bread I've ever been served. It's too bad, because the place is cute inside and very quiet (probably because people are smart enough not to go!)

Collossal Dissapointment – Boy, was I (were we!!!) disappointed. After rattling off a few specials and then disappearing, we had to call for him to come back just to get ice-water in our glasses Questions regarding the Entre's were met with almost a sneer of surprise when I mentioned I was not familiar with the Rabbit or the Venison (Our Signature Dish!)and my thought to even consider the marbled London Broil with Portabella mushrooms as opposed to the Fillet was greeted with such disdain that I wondered why the first item was even on the menu! The scallops were good but not full flavored, the Veal was dry and the sauce didn't help, and the Venison, though full flavored, was gamey to excess and tough to the point of almost being unchewable.

Try someplace else – At first glance, The Hungry I seems like a promising restaurant--nice decor, cozy, and the menu looks good. Unfortunately, the food, though inventive, was not what we expected it to be. The venison was overcooked and our appetizers came cold. If you do decide to give the place a try, stay away from the door, there's a terrible draft that a few silk drapes are supposed to block but fail miserably at doing so.

Valentine Day's Massacre – You can't believe how bad it was. Every woman was in sleaveless dresses and was freezing. Flimsy drapes were hung by the door and failed to block the very cold air ( which flooded in with each arrival). Wine was ordered and was (when not available) substituted without consulting us. The bread was unedible. One of us had duck which was the worst duck I ever had. The other had steak which was to be served with "fluffy" potatoes. The potatoes never showed up, the dinner plate was ice cold and the steak was not cooked to order. Service was mediocre (no apologies from anyone re: the wine, potatoes, bread, etc.) Never again ... and all for $175 for dinner, $65 for wine. Why did I leave a tip?

Ever heared of nuvo – Romance is what this place sells. If your signifigant other rates there food by how many inches there steak hangs off the plate, this may not be your style. This restaurant does have real charm and potential. YES ladies and gentleman there menu by conparison is small. (FYI theres more focus how there food is prepared, not on how there going to cook 28 different entrees and still manage to have your venison cooked perfectly medium rare.) To some there prices are high, but escargo and venison are not something every resturant boston serves up with such style and flavor. If french and a peaceful atmosphire are what your looking for the hungry-I is by all means the place for you. If your idea for the night is some groaning about work and hoping your partner will fall asleep early. Take some advice, save you money and order take out.

Best date place. – Perfect for a date. The brunch on Sunday is elegant and worth the price. The food is very rich and good, but what you get at this place is a very romantic spot beneath busy Charles St. in Beacon Hill. Very romantic, if you want to impress a date by showing good taste and don't mind paying, pick the Hungry I.
