BEST COMPUTER REPAIR SERVICE! – About two months ago I broke my computer while on an airplane. I then preceeded to take it to an apple store since I was still under service; after two weeks there I found out the repair would cost 1,300. I then googled repair shops to find Happy Hamster! Called them, got my computer in that same day, they gave good and easy to find directions to their location, and got my computer in to be diagnosed that day. Within two days they had my computer diagnosed, charged for that, but then I had it completely fixed with in a week for only 175! And once it was diagnosed they gave me a call to tell me the options I had for replacing a part , were clear, easy to understand, and upfront about all costs! No damage was done to my computer in the process either; it came back all in one piece, everything how I'd left it, and ten times better! :) Thank you Happy Hamster! If my comupter ever has another unfortunate experience you can count on seeing me again! :)
Happy Returning Human Customer – I had Happy Hamster build me a computer almost two years ago. I had taken in a very old machine for repair (purchased in '98) and it was very slow. Of course, it needed more than just performance tweaking. Zac assessed my situation and said he felt bad charging what I'd have to pay when this machine was on its last legs. He suggested just building me a machine that would be 20 times faster and he'd be there for local on-going questions and support. He was a new business at the time but I took a chance, and had him build it.
I've been so happy with it, and time flew by with no problems. When I found my computer had contracted a virus, I again called on Zac. When I got there he didn't recognize me, and that's GOOD. I don't want my computer repair people to see me that often, if you know what I mean. He took my machine in immediately, and gave me an unbeatable deal, because I was a return customer. The most important part to me is that he made me feel confident that it would be fixed, simply because he recognizes the value of satisfying returning customers. He also gave me an estimated pickup day, then called me a day early to say it was ready. No one likes to be without their computer for very long and I really couldn't thank him enough for making me a priority.
Two years ago when I first found him, it was only Zac and his then girlfriend. Now he's got several other Hamsters working for him and they have a terrific storefront on MLK. From my experience, I'm not surprised Happy Hamster has found success! Thanks Zac!!
Awesome! And here's why....... – I brought my HP tablet laptop in due to internet connectivity issues. These guys did diagnostics and were able to confirm that I had not destroyed my computer by dropping it, it just had some compatibility issues with Vista. They installed Windows 7 and removed Norton and a bunch of bloatware. It feels like I have a brand new computer! They installed Microsoft's free security software, so I'm already saving money by never needing Norton again. It's amazing that my computer is running this fast, considering how many music and video downloads are taking up the majority of the memory on it. Had one issue with the Windows key being incorrectly input at time of install, but I brought it back and they fixed it in 5 minutes for free. Good place to get your computer fixed, and your life back! :)
Redeemed – These guys were super nice when I brought my macbook with a cracked LCD screen in. I had done some shopping around and their quote of $150 was the lowest. The cost ended up being $190 because it took longer than they had anticipated... whatevskies. When I picked up my computer the casing that holds the screen in was cracked in multiple places. They said this is really common and there really isn't anything you can do to avoid it. Because I wasn't warned before hand I was refunded my money.
FANTASTIC SERVICE !!!!!!!!!!!!!! – Hinges broke on my laptop right before Christmas. Contacted Happy Hamsters, they gave me a quote, ordered my parts, called me when they came in - and in under an hour of my waiting in their shop - my laptop was better than new. They even cleaned it for me ----
These guys pride themselves on Quality Customer Service and Care - something that is hard to find these days. Thanks Zach, Nikita and the rest of the Hamsters. I will gladly come back for any future repairs and have already recommended you to friends and co-workers.

they write their own reviews – i was ripped off by this company when i took my computer in for a repair. They held me off for a week without my computer and without a loaner. No one seems to know whats going on when i call, the owner is a snob who lies to people. A lot of these reviews sound the same, I wonder why.
Dear Former Employee (yes, we know it's you). Please stop writing fake reviews about us all over the internet. It's childish and immature. You've written five or six today, all under different names, all with the same text, get over yourself. You were fired for cause, move on with your life.
Called and had my problem fixed with a couple of seconds – I was panicking. I've been turning my computer off for 15 minutes and turning it back on. Turned it off. Turned it on again. Turned it off. Same blank black screen with white text on it. It is asking me to pick from 4 commands. I have no clue. I pick one. It can't read it. I pick another. It can't read it. Ridiculous. I pulling the computer plug off and sticking it back in. Same message. I seriously thought my computer was hacked.
I called 1800SONYPC..I went through a machine. Then like 4 minutes later going through the stupid voice machine, I found out that you needed to pay like $.99 every minute--ridiculous. forget it.
I called 10 different computer stores (It's almost 8pm now, and it's also a Sunday) and all of them were closed. I called Happy Hamster Computer Repair and I got the "unavailable" message too. I was desperate. I had to type an essay for school that's due tomorrow. Panicking. About 1 minute later, I got a call from Happy Hamster Repair and I told him the problem and he said that I might have a CD in the computer. I took it out. Restarted the computer..and walaa...it worked.
Seriously, that call was no longer than 1-2 minutes and I swear, I would probably have spent the whole night unplugging and restarting the computer if I didn't get any help.
Happiest computer repair ever – I was in such big trouble when my computer crashed with all my work files on it. I had heard of happy hamster (and of course remembered the name) and they helped me turn a really stressful situation into an easy fix. There was hand holding, questions that I didn't even know to ask got answered, there was no judgement of my lame computer knowledge, everything was fixed in the timeframe they had layed out and I got a call when everything was done to make sure my computer was still doing OK. They are now my official computer consultants.

Viruses don't stand a chance againsts these Hamsters – My one year old baby laptop was running about as reliably as my leaky old '85 Buick. Acting erratic, poofing* away pages, going soooo slow and sometimes not shutting down, and my Norton was not doing the trick. The folks @ Happy Hamster are like Pac Men, but instead of chasing fruit, pretzels or ghosts they pursue, pick off and DESTROY any and all evil little (or in my case big), VIRUSES lurking around your system. They're quick like bunnies too, or like hamsters I should say. They even provided tips so I can avoid issues in the future. Superb customer service

Very Ethical Business – I was upgrading my laptop from a 5-year-old computer to a new laptop with Windows Vista, interacting with two of the technicians total over several home visits. The first technician was able to accomplish much, but was unable to find a way to successfully transfer my full client Outlook e-mails to Windows Mail - plus there were some challenges with wireless networking. The technician charged only for the work accomplished.
HH called me and suggested that they send out a networking specialist to take care of the two outstanding items. He was able to quickly take care of the networking issue and tried to also take care of the mail issue, but no luck. HH's team tried to replicate a solution in their office. They were not able to find a solution, and Zac called me to willingly refund part of my previous bill without my asking.
I have not used Geek Squad or any similar large service, so my perception may be wrong, yet compared to services like GS I felt if HH had better access to training/familiarity with the ins and outs of Vista, Outlook, etc. that the overall experience would have been a bit better.
However, I give them five stars because of Zac's drive for customer satisfaction (charging time only for service completed, attempting to replicate the problem at their office) and HH's availability (flexible hours, in-home service, reasonable rates spelled out on their website).
