This pint-sized grocery is a Brooklyn beer geek's dream. – In Short
The owners of both the beloved Williamsburg beer bar Spuyten Duyvil and barbecue joint Fette Sau have plenty of gourmet cred among foodies in Brooklyn and beyond. Their tiny grocery, crammed into the Williamsburg "mini-mall," has an astonishing variety of around 200 hard-to-find craft beers from small, independent producers (the majority from Belgium), plus a selection of jams, mustards, McClure's Pickles and other gourmet treats. The space itself has the feel of an old-time general store, with its single employee, red pressed-tin ceiling and weathered wood interior.
Hits: The beer selection can be a bit intimidating, but the staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful.
Misses: The grocery's rare craft beers are sold individually and don't come cheap, making it more of a stop for personal enjoyment rather than a place to stock up for a party.
