Terrible service - avoid – Took out of town guests and our 2 yr old toddler here for a special occasion. Food was very good, but service was just plain poor. It took over an hour to get our entrees, and when we asked the waiter for an ETA, all he could do was offer to get the manager. The manager came over and apologized, but did not offer to comp drinks, etc. I might view as an aberration, but this was our 2nd time in this restaurant AND THE 2nd TIME THIS OCCURRED. On prior visit, they foot the sundae that accompanied the children's menu, and it took an ADDITIONAL 45 min and angry visit to the manager to get the item delivered. They are now 0 for 2. Will never go back despite the food, which was pretty good.

My Favorite Chain Restaurant in Boston – Papa Razzi is my favorite chain restaurant in the city. When I lived only two blocks away in 2003, I used to eat here ate least every two weeks. The food is always outstanding from the bread sticks, focaccia bread to the always tasty chicken parmesan. I recommend sitting at the bar - the staff is always friendly and you can also nibble on the complimentary olives at the bar. This is by far my favorite Italian place on Newbury Street.

L'amo! – I love it! I've dined here several times and have ordered a takeout once. The waiters are very friendly and knowledgeable and food is delivered quite quickly. And oh my God it is SO good. My favorite appetizer is definitely the Pizzeta con Polpetta. It's a pizza about the same size as their entree pizzas with meatball, mozzarella, basil and tomato sauce. I also love the calamari. As far as pasta goes, the Rigatoni con Luganega is AMAZING. I always order it and absolutely love it. Seriously, everything here is great. Waiters, food, timeliness, etc. However, delivery did take 65 minutes. But it was definitely worth the wait . . . and the $75 (it was a good amount of food! 2 appetizers, a pizza, and 2 pasta dishes between 2 people).

Your Lover, Boss, Mother, Father, Even All Together – The best part: The waitstaff. They stop, say welcome, introduce themselves, and wait for your response. Then they are back several times. The food is delicious, and their own. A good place to take your lover (romantic), your boss, your mother and father (classy - white tablecloths and breadsticks already set). Even all of them together... Just a little bit pricey, but won't break anybody's bank.

Popular New England chain is all about comfort, from calm surroundings to hearty, family-friendly Italian fare. – The Scene
As part of the far-reaching Back Bay Restaurant Group, Papa Razzi mirrors sister establishments like Joe's American Bar & Grill and Charley's by serving an accessible, family-friendly menu at affordable prices in a relaxed setting. Soothing color schemes and black-and-white photos of the famous and infamous (a nod to the restaurant's name) provide plenty of atmosphere, as do gregarious, attentive servers. When there's a wait, grab a stool at the well-stocked bar to pass the time.

The Food
While perusing the menu of colorful salads, wood-fired thin-crust pizzas, and made-to-order pasta dishes, most diners absent-mindedly devour a basket of freshly baked focaccia and bread sticks. Palatable insalata di campo, which combines mixed greens, dried cranberries, tomatoes and Gorgonzola in balsamic vinaigrette, makes a worthy starter. Among the signature pastas, the Porcini tortelloni, smothered in a savory wild mushroom and tomato sauce, is a sturdy crowd-pleaser. For dessert, creamy gelatos provide a cooling finish.

Pretty Good – This restaurant is right next to our house, so we decided to try it. A friend of mine gave it a bad review, saying the food was too salty, but we decided to go anyway. We went later, around 10pm, so i have no idea what it is like early. We were seated promptly, but the server took a while with the drinks and taking our order. That is my only complaint. The food was nice, i had the veal and my boyfriend has a pasta dish. I actually liked his almost more than mine. I had the wine that they recommended with the meal, and it was a very nice compliment. We both give it an 8/10 and would go again.
