A huge space, a great burger, and one of the best brunches in New York spells success for this truly admirable Greenpoint eatery.

Five Leaves has long outlived its Heath Ledger fame; now it's simply known as *the* place to brunch in Greenpoint. Legions of yuppies endure hour+ waits for the stack of fluffy ricotta pancakes or spicy Moroccan scramble, plus the requisite people-watching entertainment. The waits and exquisite food can also be found during the dinner rush where the burger usually takes center stage.

Charmingly Persuasive – It's got almost an entire 360 outdoor seating area which is a huge plus especially when the weather permits. Great people watching, and the staff were very attentive and nice.

There was a wait, but not bad, and altho the food is expected, it's got an undeniable charm and twist to the menu that does make it uniquely familiar.

MUST: The Five Leaves Burger- too amazing!

Heath Ledger's legacy lives on at this Greenpoint bar and cafe, which serves up cocktails and traditional American fare in a rustic, no-frills setting. – In Short
A nautical theme transcends this cozy, intimate space. Even with its celebrity affiliation, the vibe (and the crowd) is low-key and relaxed. Old-fashioned glass and wire lights dangle from the blonde wood ceiling above marble topped tables. The fully stocked bar, located at the center of the room, is designed to look like the prow of a ship. Specialty cocktails are $9. Whether you're looking to grab coffee with a friend, a cocktail, or a light meal, Five Leaves is the place to dock. It's a coffeehouse, cafe, bar and oyster bar all in one.

Hits: Unlike other trendy hot spots, Five Leaves pulls off the difficult task of being both a kid-friendly and urban hip establishment.

Misses: The wooden folding chairs are wobbly. Sit for too long and you may find yourself with a mild case of sea sickness; lean too far back and you may be in danger of falling overboard.
