Terrible, rude, overpriced, overcharged, rip off. – Minimum credit card charge: $50.
Same drink was charged: $ 10, 12, 14 by different bartenders.
No last call announcement, bought a drink at 3 am, lights went up righ away, asked bouncer if i can finish my drink, need a few minutes : got "take your time, no problem". In two minutes two other bouncers came, forcefully took my drink, trashed and physically forced me out saying that the place is closing and only staff will stay. If was on friday , nov 5th. Asked they names: got " Not your business from one , dark skinned, chobby with braids, the other call himself Ken."
This is terrible humiliation forcing people out before the closure without warning and rip off because was no last call announcement made and no time was given to people to finish the drinks and leave.
Low low life people there.
Owner or management has to be present to see what his people are doing.
One of the bouncers with the birthday at that day asked me to have sex with him in the bathroom or go to hotel because this is his birthday.
Do not go.......
and I thought Midtown was Lame..... – I am strictly a downtown girl but I checked this place out one night at happy hour. I was in desperate need of a drink last week after an hour and a half wait at a casting. ugh.
My girls and I rolled in and got escorted to the upstairs area. We sprawled out in these huge red antique chairs where we were feet away from a balcony that we could go outside and smoke on! Music was cute dance/pop, sangria was 6 bucks and our waitress was super cool! There are very few places where the cocktail waitress will understand your stress and bring you the next one before you even have to ask. Needless to say my stress level dropped and we started a rockin' evening here. I have to get back for late night!!!
Awesome midtown lounge! – So I had my birthday party here after a recommendation from a friend. I reserved the upstairs space and was not disappointed! I had about 100 people show up and everyone had a blast!! The place itself is amazing with 2 floors and nice antique looking furniture. It looked like whoever decorated it took some time and really put some thought into it. The drinks were good and the service was excellent! Apparently they had just undergone some new management change and they are trying to make it a point to make sure all their customers now are being extra taken care of :) I highly recommend this lounge and will definitely be going back on a regular basis!
this place is awful – a group of my friends went to haven last night (a friday) and it was the worst service I've experienced in New York in the 12 years I've lived here. First the waitress tricked us into buying drinks saying if we bought before midnight our second one was free and she even gave us coupons. Then she came back and asked us to move because our table was reserved for someone with bottle service (seriously - at this place) and the people were coming in 10 minutes - they never came. THen they didn't honor our second drinks with the tickets. The manager *Jose who obviously had no idea how to run a bar) came over and he was absolutely so rude. Did nothing to accommodate us in any way or fix the situation. The drinks were horrible, staff and management rude, and the music was awful. I'm giving everyone fair warning. There are so many good places in this city don't ever step foot into this places. It was the worst!
love it! – i really love haven! such a nice spot; especially for midtown. they have a really great atmosphere and a good looking crowd of people, from bankers to artists (i'm the latter!).
the happy hour is the best part though, because from 5-830 (double check the time) they have $13 pitchers of mixed drinks. i recently tried the margarita pitcher, but apparently it's different on different nights so you can get cosmos, sangria and more. awesome food too!
great music too!
Awful place – The management here is so rude. the drinks are weak and overpriced. There is seriously no reason to go here when there are so many other decent happy hour choices around. Haven thinks it's a trendy club but it's located in the heart of happy hour land and that's the only reason anybody would ever want to go there.
hot spot for a party – I went to a holiday party at Haven and had the ultimate time. The place has a very unique decor, nothing i have seen before. Awesome music with great beatz were on. The drinks were tasty AND strong which is plus. the upstairs is a relaxing lounge. I def recommend haven to all guys and gals if you are looking to host a private party or event. I didnt try the food (i hear its good) but i am planning my next date there (when i get one haha). I want to try a new wine from their wine list.
Great Vibe, Great Drinks! – Visited with a group of my girls after work last week and loved it! It is the perfect place to cozy up on a date or hang out and chat with the girls. The cocktails were different from the usual bar drinks. The staff was pleasant and willing to explain the tapas on the menu to us. Loved the lobster risotto, although it was a little more expensive than a typical meal. The music was fun and funky and made for a good time.
Ehhhh... You decide. – Great Place that could be SOOO much more. Drinks could use work, staff means well, but the place seems confused over what direction to take itself. A "fine" "elegant" tapas restaurant - as the kind General Manager described their menu, or a late night lounge - as the music changes horribly and drastically from jazz standards, random indian music and then house music late at nights. I really do love the decor and the warmth that Haven emits, but be careful of the postings - half of the 5 star ratings are from staff/ownership - Classy. You'll just have to findout for yourself if a $14 dollar cocktail or 20 some dollar lobster risotto that couldn't even fill my light-eating date's appetite is worth it!
Cool bar with really good food. – I recently went to Haven Bar after work for the first time and didn't know what to expect. The place has the strangest, albeit very nice, decor I have seen in a while. All the staff are made of women whom are all dressed like classy ladies of the night They were very nice though. As soon as I started drinking and eating though I knew I made a wise decision. The food portions are not large, but the quality is terrific and the menu is innovative. I have never seen bar food like this before. Really nice options like lamb and risotto. Service was very good and the wine list is wonderful. I did not try any specialty drinks, but the cocktail listing looked terrific. I will be back soon.
