Beware Out-of-Towners – This club was awful. It was small, horrible music, and had very few cute guys. The description of this club really needs to be updated on here. It is not 3 floors anymore, The club has downsized to only 1 floor with a really small dance floor and cramped atmoshpere. Some straight club apparently had bought out the other floors making this club comparable to an Austin sized bar. Not to mention there is a $15.00 cover, better off spending your money on renting a movie.
One of Boston's most popular spots to "strike a pose" caters mainly to alternative crowds. – In Short
Buzz's design is modern, fashionable and loud, creating an atmosphere that attracts some of the best-looking people in Boston while refraining from being upscale. The club has three levels, including two separate dance floors, a pool room, numerous lounge areas and fully stocked bars on either side of every room. While there isn't much of a standard dress code, patrons should dress up to fit in with the Euro crowd.
I'd go back – Went to Buzz for the first time on Saturday. Just stumbled upon it with a friend and ended up having an amazing time, but the evening's dozen previous cocktails might've had something to do with it. Downstairs was nearly dead (just a few guys dancing, standing around and chatting) but upstairs was packed and hardcore. Had been out to a few bars around town earlier that night and was horrified by how many fugly people (men and women) were out, but Buzz had a very attractive set - not disappointed at all. Don't recall how alcoholic the drinks were and my bar tab was higher than expected (when I finally managed to cash it out), but I managed to dance the night a way, meet a few cute guys and still walk out without any STDs. When I'm in town again, at least on a Saturday, I'll go back.
Severe – I've been a repeat customer on Saturday nights for the past couple months. So many places in Boston are about attitude, and I don't think that's the case here. The staff members are mostly very friendly, and my bartender always manages to make a pretty good drink, no matter what I order. The dancing upstairs is severe and the lounge space downstairs offers a nice break from the dancing.
the 90's are over! – Went here on a Friday night after vapor. The place was pretty dead. The music was crap, unless of course you are a big fan of the type of electronic music that was big in the late 90's and you like to do the stupid raver dance. All in all pretty lame.
Not feeling the BUZZ – Wow, this is one sad excuse for a nightclub.
I know the Gay scene is tired in Boston, but this place sinks to new and uncharted depths.
Take my advice, and don't waste your money getting in the front door Friday or Saturday nights. Try one of the other clubs in the city first, you'll be thanking me later.
What's all the hype? – Mistakingly went here at friends advice. On a Friday, I was definately a fish out of water. I was told guys night is Saturday. I left to check out other clubs, wound up at Ramrod Machine & had a great time. I returned Saturday. When I got in, I wanted a good drink. Let's just say that it wasn't good, the steroids must have gone to the bartenders head, he forgot to put any alcohol in it! After 30 minutes of this place, I had to leave... I thought they said Saturdays were for men. I returned to my previous nights haunt, saw a great Male Revue, got a drink with alcohol in it, and hooked up with a few guys who were actually human. I think my friends were pulling a sick joke on me, if this was the place to be at one point, it sure isn't now.
Where do lesbians go on a Friday night? Circuit Girl is the place. There's a diverse crowd and the place is a dive but its always packed. The music is OK, alot of house and some top 40s.
