Great place with wonderful ambiance. I brought some out of town guests, and they LOVED this place. We had brunch, and we all loved our food. My friend is a chef and has a very refined palate, so I was extremeley pleased to have stumbled across this place. The portions were very healthy and very reasonable. We had a party that was vegeterian, pescatarian and a meat eater, and we all got something that was perfectly suited to our taste. Our waitress and staff were all extremeley friendly and welcoming. The back patio area was really nice and there was a variety of different types of seating including some tables with a firepit in the middle. Super place. This will be a regular go to place from now on!

Lobster Brunch with Bottomless Pint or Mimosa: Well Worth It – We've been going to get the East Burn's Tuesday $2 pints for a while now...an amazing deal...UNTIL they limited the number of beers you could get for $2. But surely they were operating at a loss for a long time, so you can't really fault them too much for that.

We'd heard about their brunch where you could pay $20 a person to get a meal plus a bottomless pint or a bottomless mimosa. It was a bit pricey for us, but we decided to splurge and check it out.

TOTALLY WORTH IT if you can scrape together the funds. It was a Sunday morning of pure decadence. The service was great. The meal was amazing (and I'm a food snob): not only delicious but a huge portion. Lobster Benedict with a big, healthy portion of lobster and REALLY bottomless drinks. We each had five drinks (we're drinkers...what can I say?) and the waiter never even gave us a "look", he just kept the beer fountain flowing. Excellent mimosas as well.

I agree that in the past, I've thought their portions not worth the price and their food only so-so, but this brunch really showed us a different side of East Burn: $20 for a huge, amazing lobster breakfast and five drinks? A STEAL! Try it, even if only for a special occasion.

Very small portions and large prices – This place had a fun atmosphere, but I was really baffled when I ordered their entree special - Veggie Napoleano, or similar name. Waitress said it was really good and soon to be added to the menu.

When it came this entree had less food than my friend's appetizer. The stack of four very thin pieces of polenta was literally about 2.5" square! There were no sides or additional items that came with it. Just this little square of polenta layered with veggies and some green sauce on the plate. It would have been understandable if it were an appetizer.

To its credit it was delicious in every respect, but veggies and corn meal are not high price ingredients to be charging $14 for such a little dab of food on the plate.

Please put it on your menu, but double the size and include something else on the plate with it if you are calling it an entree. For example if you order a steak entree you get rice/potatoes/salad/rolls/veggie type options with it typically.

Haven't been disappointed yet – Today I had the special of 1/2 a toasted ck salad sand w/both red pepper tomato soup and salad. I've been there for lunch a few times, and dinner, and I've ordered things I don't normally order, like pork medallions, and its been amazing enough to go back for it the next week. Keep up the good work! Try the Portland Raindrop martini!

Medioaker service and food – I had dinner at East Burn for the first time a few weekends ago. I was not impressed with the slow service or the distracted waitresses. It took way too long to get our forgotten about appetizer. I really enjoyed part of my entree but the side dishes were bland.

Completely AWESOME place – This place rocks! It is a place that (if I didn't live 30 miles away) I would frequent. Totally 70's era decorating, chairs that hang from the ceiling, Mrs. PacMan console arcade game, board games galore, SKIBALL!!! Decent drink specials, when I went there were $2 Sessions and $3 shots of whiskey. Calamari was fantastic, but small portioned for $9. All and all, the party that I was with (a party of 4) had a great time for minimal $$$. I'm excited to go again. This is NOT just another average DIVE BAR that you would typically find on Burnside. Then again, we were only downstairs. We heard that there had been a live band upstairs earlier that was so loud, it was hard to think let alone conversate. I would deffinately go again, invite my friends, and suggest this place to ANYONE looking to have a good, relaxed, fun time without the hassle of downtown. You'll see tons of people with dred-locks, skinny jeans, and tiny beanie hats. It isn't yuppyville like NW 23rd or the Pearl, not a trashy-woman place like downtown, you don't have to worry about getting shot like you would in Gresham (at a place like Lucky's). Relaxed, entertaining, fun. AND there are chalkboard walls in the bathrooms, so you can grafitti all you want! I love it and can't wait until I can venture out that way again.
