Food Poison – On Monday, April 19th 2010, I and 2 of my coworkers had lunch at the Counter in Roswell, GA. Since we work in the area we have lunch there about 3 times a month. However, after eating at the Counter this particular day I became very nauseous. I ordered my usual; turkey burger with mix greens, jalapeno cheese, and bacon, hard boiled eggs on a wheat bun with roasted garlic aioli sauce with fries. One of my coworkers ordered a turkey burger as well, different toppings, and also became nauseous.

NASTY FOOD, advertise burgers but can't even cook one well!! – So we decided to go to this place today. Custom Burgers huh? Well it SOUNDED like it was going to be an ultimate experience to everyday burgers, but it was just plainly disgusting. The menu is clever and their presentation impeccable, but the execution is just POOR...no, SUPER poor.

Let's start with the service. Guys, maybe you should consider hiring someone that somehow has valuable experience in customer service. The host was great and very informative. The waiter was OK. When I say okay is one of those people that has to be nice to get a tip. He took the longest time to take our food order (I actually thought he had thought he had already taken our order and forgot,..around 14mins NO JOKE). The kids food (burgers) were OVERCOOKED, as well as the turkey burgers (Mediterranean bowl for me) that we ordered. One of the turkey burgers had the 'frost bite' taste (you know when you leave meat in the freezer for a long time? yeah that!). No flavor to the meat. We asked for the egg to be cooked without the yolk and the cook said that he was not able to do that. The milkshakes, the fries and the grill cheese was good.

So, again, the concept of the restaurant is great but they need fresh meat if they want juicy burgers. I LOVE food and I LOVE great food and this place seriously does not need my presence again. Stop dressing up for halloween and start getting on board with the customer service and making great food. For a good burger I recommend ...FIVE GUYS or Stake and Shake. Not kidding people. OH yeah I def. agree with the gentleman that said that they were racist. I TRULY noticed that.

I hope the owner of this place actually takes in consideration these reviews.

Racist Servers – Today I went with two of my friends to your Roswell, GA location. After my party was seated, the waiter for the section in which we were seated avoided serving or even acknowledging my party for approximately 12-15 minutes. Eventually a hostess happened by and we asked if we were supposed to prompt someone or return our custom burger sheets before a waiter would come to our table. She promptly went to speak to the waiter for our section and then had to bring another server from a different section of the restaurant to serve us. As an African-American patron, it was an extremely uncomfortable situation. The Caucasian server made it all too obvious that he refused to serve my party. He was very polite to the other patrons in his section and was very efficient in serving them. Later in the evening, one of us ordered a milkshake and it was made at the counter. The person that made the counter gave the milkshake to the server because it was for someone in his section. When he realized the table it was supposed to go to, he recoiled and turned around and spoke to the person at the counter again. He then came to our table and set the drink down with a flippant attitude. This was the first and only time that he acknowledged our party and we were in the center table of his section. I have never in my life felt so insulted and the event put a damper on everyone’s evening. It was also strange that this did not seem like an out of the norm occurrence. It seemed as if some of the other waiters/ managers around were aware of his lack of customer service (and the reason behind it). No one offered an apology for our discomfort at all. I am thoroughly disappointed with my experience at The Counter and will never eat there again, nor would I recommend it to anyone…of any race.

Simply Amazing – Although it's a bit pricey, the portions are huge. There is a wide variety of toppings (understatement of the year) and some of the best milkshakes ever. You can customize just about everything. Overall, a great place to go.

Top notch burgers with infintite topping possibilities – The topping choices are vast, some quite exotic, but almost all very very good. The onion rings and fried come in huge portions (the burger portions are gluttonous). The milkshakes are also some of the best i have ever had anywhere.

The atmosphere is fairly good, definitely a family place. They do serve beer and whine, so a good place for adults also. The serivce is good, and the food is prepared fairly quickly.

The one drawback is that you you will probably leave thinking "man that was one of the best burgers i have ever had, but I cant believe i spend that much on burgers and fries".

Roswell gets a fresh take on the burger joint, complete with clipboard ordering system and an industrial-chic vibe. – In Short
A step or two inside this industrial-edged burger joint (the patio has garage doors that open in warm weather), and Roswell suddenly feels a whole lot less suburban. Where the modern twists really shine are on the clipboard menu that's a series of check boxes for build-your-own burger fanatics. Patrons get to pile on the toppings from the usual (dill pickle chips, tomatoes) to the exotic (grilled pinapple, fried egg, apricot sauce)--even the buns are custom. In a step above fast food, the wait staff takes your order and delivers the food to your table, and the meat is cooked as requested.
