Great authentic Thai food – Been here twice since it reopened with new owners. Once for dinner and once for lunch. This is one of the few thai restaurants in Boston that is authentic in taste and atmosphere. The other is Dok Bua in Brookline. It is something I have looked for since traveling in Thailand for over 3 months. It is very hard to find. The food is very good and very close to what real thai food tastes like. The new owners have done a great job. I will go back.

Tiny South End restaurant offers robust Thai cuisine straight from Bangkok, in deceptively simple surroundings. – The Scene
The bright green facade of Thai Village blends in with the South End's pile of eclectic boutiques. Inside, less than a dozen tables are subsumed in overwhelmingly generic mauve and green decor, but unexpectedly bold cuisine offsets the serene environment. Only the collection of takeout orders disturbs a tranquil dining experience orchestrated by reserved and courteous waitstaff.

The Food
Thai Village offers a more limited menu than other casual Thai restaurants, but it excels at what it offers. Traditional Thai dishes are generously portioned, especially considering their modest prices. The massive plate of pad thai is a standout, expertly spiced (not too spicy) and dotted with delicious shrimp. Chicken cashew uses the subtle sweetness of pineapples to douse a medley of fresh vegetables in a light sauce. Fried ice cream is a conventional, tastily executed dessert.

one of the worst places for thai food – boston has a lot of thai restaurants, and i can say that honestly i've been to most of them. this has got to be the worst place for thai food i've ever been, and this includes the two average places on newbury and the two mediocre places on boylston near the prudential (not pad thai by berklee, the other two. pad thai is one of the best places). i've been there twice, both times as a very last resort b/c in the south end there aren't that many asian places, and both times the food i got was really terrible. the curry i got most recently was absolutely devoid of flavor, and it was watery. as in watered down watery. avoid at all costs.

Suprisingly solid thai in Boston – Solid Thai food. Boston doesn't have much to offer when it comes to asian cuisine as compared to other cities, so it's good to at least get some solid thai every once in a while. Nothing fancy - nothing crazy good - just solid.

Great for Take Out – I love their red and green chicken curry dishes. They are reasonably priced and great for take out if you live in the South End. My partner and I feel more comfortable eating at home than in their restaurant. Their decor is not as inviting as many of the other restaurants nearby. However, the prices are much more reasonable.
