The reincarnation of Hollywood's classic tiki haunt has finally arrived. Back in the '50s and '60s, it was the Rat-Pack haunt. Today, under new ownership and with a new look, the tropical theme is still in tact--but with a decidedly more upscale twist. Thatched awnings lead the way into a teak-and-stone bar flanked by giant tiki and hand statues, while the dark, wicker-chaired dining room with masks from Papua New Guinea (cue music from The Brady Bunch's trip to Hawaii) might require a flashlight if it weren't for the silk lanterns and ceiling installation made of 33 glow-in-the-dark pufferfish. As for the menu, try the firecracker shrimp--four vertical skewers of crunchy sweetness--and exotic entrees like banana leaf-wrapped halibut and a pupu platter with Wagyu meatballs. The kitsch overload might have been traded in for more "refined" digs, but the cocktail list--potent and popular as ever--is thankfully not a thing of the past ... expect to see lots of large pineapples and coconut shells on the linen-covered tables filled with deceptively smooth concoctions.

Good food but poor classless service. It began with the park & retrieve your own car valet- $8 parking. when making the reservation they were told that we would be celebrating a 77th birthday. We reminded the waitress when desserts were ordered & she returned with no candle, nor was there a complimentay dessert or even ice cream - no acknowledgement at all. I would rather have great service and average food.

Excellent food and a great date spot for a night on the town with my hubby. At first I was a little weary of the tiki, fringed exterior. But once inside, it was all class. The hanging, illuminated blowfish sound kind of mawkish, but they actually added a subtle, elegant tropical feel. As for the food.. fantastic. Try the peking duck tacos and seabass. And Frank Sinatra's signature cocktail did not disappoint.

Great location, great decor, great food, great vibe but this restaurant is very expenisve. My small drink was $18 and the food is pricey. I really wish this establishment would lower it's prices just a bit so we could go back more often.
