Irish bar ambience. – Although the name states "English" this is not an English bar. The founder Tom English, a real person, was originally from Limerick, from Ireland. He was involved in Nationalist politics and escaped to America in the 1920's. Until recently the bar was owned by his son. It is a neighbourhood Irish bar. Nothing more and nothing less. As a neighbourhood Irish bar it is first class.
Lackluster Service/No Ciders – No tonly was the food boring and cold, but the service was lackluster and the manager rude. They dont even carry an cider on tap to make Black Velvets! An true English Pub this is not!
Restrooms Straight Ahead! – I must say, the only thing I enjoyed about this restaurant was the potato/ olive oil dip for the bread. We had to request another table because the first was too small. The waitress was not very knowledgable with the menu or even the concept of the cuisine. Considering there isn't a full liquor license the choice of beer is limited and if your choice is wine, plan to pour it yourself.
Plate portions are quite small and service during is non-exsistant. I think what really got me is that you actually have to go outside of the restaurant and use the public restrooms which wouldn't be so bad but there is this sign indicating the bathroom is straight ahead but you have no way of knowing it is located outside the restaurant.
