My hair is georgeous! – This place makes you feel like a movie star. And not as intimidating as it may seem since it looks to chic. Everyone was super friendly and I felt very comfortable there. Plus my hair looks absolutely amazing. Michelle is the BEST!!!! Go there! See her! :D
Love – Melissa! Lovvve my hair! Very short, so easy, so cute!
So glad I found this place! – I recently moved to the Lower East side and of course spotted this salon right on my corner. You really can't miss it. I went in last week and saw Michelle for a cut and highlights. She did an amazing job! My hair is so blonde now I feel like I'm stopping traffic! The one thing that really impressed me is that she took the time to give me tips and teach me how to style my hair myself. My hair now looks salon good everyday! Everyone was very friendly and funny. Also the music was great!
Amazing new salon! – what a great salon! the staff and stylist could not be more friendly, the place is chic and comfortable, but most importantly, Kenny is very talented. He listened to what I wanted and needed, and made sure he understood my lifestyle and what I expected from the cut. I could not be more happy with my haircut and will definitely be going back to Pimps and Pinups and Kenny!
Best Haircut EVER – I had heard great things about this salon both from friends in London and New York. I decided to make an appointment in the new salon in the LES and was thrilled I did. Jackie gave me the best hair cut I have ever had and really took time with me and gave me the exact style i asked for. The price was reasonable too.
Jackie is great, the salon is amazing, I will definately be back!!!!
Great little Salon – I went to see Michelle the other day for a quick tidy up. I was really impressed with the salon and the staff. Will be visiting them again very soon.
Jackies the one to see! – I had walked passed (or should I say, stumbled) across Pimps many times on nights out in the Lower East and thought I'd give them a go. I had such a great time! The staff are very cool but do not take themselves too seriously. British Manager John, even joked (I think) about how he's spent his whole life trying to become a scenester, but to no avail!
Jackie, my stylist, listen to what I wanted and gave me a great cut. The music was some great indie and a got a great cup of English tea John the manager had got for Christmas. As I said the guys are all very hip but it has not gone to their heads. I can not wait for my next visit.
Overlypriced for cut and color :/ – Am disappointed as I called up to get a rough estimation of the cost for a few highlights and a little trim.
They quoted around $80-$120 mark depending on length and color.
I honestly only got a little trim and no more than a few foils. $185 later (plus $30 tip) I wasn't such a happy camper.
The atmosphere wasn't cosy enough - it was all about being "cool" or looking "cool" as an image in the exterior/interior of the salon rather than being focused on the clients comfort.
I don't think I'll go back - but was initially keen to try it.
Unless you're 'cool', seek 'cool', or have a wallet to pay for 'cool' - I'd think again. And, if you do go - make sure you get the price UPFRONT!
I am sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your visit to the salon. We really go out of our way to make sure the clients feel at home and are happy throughout. We have warm and friendly staff, an amazing looking salon and some of the most comfortable barber chairs on the market. Also color can be anything from $50 to $200 depending on what service you want. Without seeing your hair it?s always going to be a rough estimate and we try to be as honest as possible .A haircut is always $85 regardless if it is a tidy up, quick trim, re style etc. So your color was $100 and your haircut $85. I strongly disagree with you saying we are too expensive. We use professional hair color and have truly talented stylists. Our prices are very fair.
I Looooove this place!!! – I have been going to Michelle at the last salon she worked at for quite some time. I'd follow her anywhere. But this place is just amazing. The lighting in there isn't that harsh salon lighting... you sit in front of those lighted mirrors and really just feel beautiful. The staff all look really cool and stylish but there is absolutely no ego in this place at all. Everyone is friendly and funny. The complimentary wine helps. :) I highly recommend Michelle's updo's thought... She is truely an artist!
Vintage hair up for friends wedding rocked! – One of my friends had a retro style wedding last week and i was really stuck for ideas. I went from hair salon to hair salon trying to get inspiration but all i got was tried, old lady style hair ups (I'm 27 not 47 for god sake, stylists of midtown!) But after a night out I spotted Pimps & Pinups in the lower east. I checked out their uber cool website and booked in for a up do with one of their stylists Michelle.
On the day i went for a classic style beehive. I loved it and it gave my outfit an interesting spin.
I will be back for sure!
