Run away from this place. My worst experience ever. Went in for a color correction and Simone made my hair pink. Yes pink my 3 year old could have colored my hair better on top of it I paid $400 and then had to elsewhere for another correction.

When you walk into the salon, they put you in a nice comfortable robe to lounge in, and offer you a variety of beverages - including, cappuccino, my favorite. It's so delicious you have to wonder if the salon staff were once baristas! While you wait, they bring you magazines, and eventually bring your refreshments out on a tray, allowing you to take it to the beautiful patio.

After you get settled in, Fabio comes over and has a serious hair consultation with you. He finds out your likes and dislikes, what is in your comfort zone, and even brings out an iPad for you to look at possible hairstyles. Once the consultation is over, he turns you over to the hands of his capable staff to get you washed and ready.

The wash itself is not just an ordinary shampoo. First you get special treatments in your hair before you go to the sink, and then a relaxing little massage! My hair is particularly fine and flat, so they massage volumizers into my hair. Then when it's time for the wash, they use product that is right for my hair for the ultimate wash. I am even impressed at the end of the wash by how they wrap the towel so perfectly around my head!

Once you get back to the chair, Fabio comes over and starts creating his masterpiece. He analyzes every strand of hair "just so" to create the perfect cut. There isn't a piece that is ever overlooked and he handles it all with such ease and a quiet focus. He wants all of his customers to look as beautiful as they can be so each cut is unique in order to highlight each individual's natural beauty.

When the cut is finished, he tells a member of the staff how he would like the hair styled. The styling itself can take a half an hour or more because again, every strand of hair is given 100% attention. They use the most high-end products and really know how to work any kind of hair. It's amazing the volume they can get with my fine, flat hair! After the hair is styled, Fabio comes over once more to make sure his masterpiece was sculpted just the way that he likes it. Sometimes he makes a few adjustments, and other times you are good to go!

Every time I leave the salon, I feel like a movie star. My hair looks sleek and perfect just like a celebrity from a magazine. The best part after the whole experience is that the cut is so good, it doesn't even take that much work to re-create it on your own. I always feel I could never do my hair the same justice as Fabio can, but a couple days later after I wash out the style, it actually air-dries exactly the way it was supposed to lay. It truly is an amazing cut. Plus, the products are so out of this world, the volume in my hair stays for at least 2 weeks afterwards. Even as the cut starts to grow out, you can see that Fabio anticipated that, and the hair style changes shape as it grows allowing you more time between salon visits.

I highly recommend this salon for the experience, the cut, and even the ambiance of Brooklyn Heights. There is nothing like walking around Brooklyn with your fancy new haircut and bumping into Anne Hathaway on your way to the park where you can look out onto the Brooklyn Bridge and the Statue of Liberty. Sometimes life is just that good.

Going to a salon like Fabio Scalia's is an experience like no other. Try it and see for yourself.

I Left Felling Robbed!! – It was my first time at Fabio Scalia and my last. I ended up with Hector for my color and Gianni for my cut. My highlights are a big mess. The cut I really like a lot. Six hours later, I ran out of there in shock, when I checked out and my bill was over $400.

Gianni Is The Best – I've been going to this salon for over a year and I love it. Everyone is friendly and professional, and they make the best Italian cappuccino. Gianni does my cuts and Hector does my color. They both are so good that I had them do my hair for my wedding. Gianni's insticts are top notch: he was able to understand everything that I wanted before I was finished saying it. Everything turned out perfectly, and I am still getting compliments on my wedding hairdo. Gianni still does my hair, and he is the best!

this is a wonderful, super nice hair salon! – this brooklyn heights hair salon is great. fabio is really so talented and super nice. mindy, the colorist, does truly fabulous work! my highlights by mindy are a highlight for me! i always leave this salon feeling that i have been treated specially and very well. and my hair looks great when i walk out the door after my appointments. mindy is a lovely person and she really knows her stuff. the place is professional AND warm. these are two things that don't come together in a salon very often. i have been to the "best:" salons in manhattan but i prefer fabio and mindy's talent and care to any other stylists or colorists or that i have encountered! the whole staff is efficient and friendly. it feels "right" in this hair salon. if you want to know what talent and kindness feels like in a hair salon, look no farther than an appointment with mindy or fabio! this is a classy place with a heart. can't do better than that when you are looking for a haircut or color! thanks for natural, lovely color, mindy! grazie, fabio! you are the BEST! I appreciate a hair salon that combines QUALITY and friendliness! you can't fool this new yorker--this place is the real deal...
