Tapas are great for Groups – I find that Tapas are great for groups of about 5. So this was the perfect spot for the group of girls and I to go for some delicious bites and refreshing sangria. My friend and I both bought a $10 Groupon the day before which got us $20 worth of food. With a few round of drinks and about 10 tapas dishes we all split the bill of $50. They have one beer on tap, Stella. But you must try their famous sangria. The croquettes, tapas fries (which were more like cubes), and shrimp were the best things we ordered. But overall all the dishes were great!

Lalola's just okay – Didn't realize it before we got there, but location is in what I consider a "not so safe" area of Nob Hill. Interior is quite cold and the stools are too high and seats too

hard for comfort. I was more comfortable standing. I'm a potato freak, so enjoyed their many potato-based entrees, though nothing to write home about. I know tapas are small plates, but portions were smaller than we expected. Can't remember the name, but I enjoyed the steak a-top the fried potatoes. White sangria was way too sweet, but red was okay. Dessert was good. Service was okay, but waiter was way too chatty with

his friends and kitchen staff. There are so many incredible tapas bars in San Francisco. This one is just okay. I don't think I'll be back.

Authentic, charming, and delicious! – After living in Spain for over a year, I am a harsh critic when it comes to Spanish food in San Francisco. Lalola did it right! Both the food and ambiance are very authentic. I loved the croquetas, paella, and gambas...yummy. The sangria is very good as well. Dessert? Wow. My friend and I shared this chocolate dessert that was made from a wine and chocolate reduction. We fought over every last bite. The owners are amazing as well. They make you feel so welcome and comfortable. This is the kind of place you want to tell all of your friends about.

On a quaint, cable-car-tracked street in Russian Hill, this corner restaurant serves simple Spanish tapas and pintxos. – The cable cars that pass by this restaurant's giant streetfacing windows provide atmosphere, a few hanging Serrano ham hocks and a red glass chandelier are the only decoration, and in true tapas bar style, stools at high-tables and counters are the only seating. The menu, written in Castillian Spanish on a chalkboard above the kitchen, is all traditional Iberian pintxos and tapas, which range from $3-9. The portions are a little small, even for a tapas joint, and the food isn't going to blow your mind, but then again that's not the point of this place: This city has plenty of trendy, upscale Spanish tapas hotspots, but tapas bars in Spain are usually simple, always casual, and serve as stop-in gathering places for hungry locals and passersby; Lalola is definitely the latter.
