attempt to bring south end to south Boston – I understand the movement of the area that Frankin entered, it is to try to be more upscale and grab a finer clientèle. I figured I would find that when I attended. I went with a friend both times and both times we left feeling "eh" , as I said, it isn't good and it isn't bad, its just "eh". My friend and I sat at the bar and wanted to get a few drinks, we were completely pushed to order food which neither of us wanted and denied all pushiness. Having eaten their prior I was not head over heals for the food one bit. I am not in the industry but I do go out a great deal and this place is definitely one to pass. I'm surprised we even went back twice. Theres alot more to be said than a late night license if the content is lacking.
On a side note: I asked tehh tender if anyone was leaving soon at the bar so we could grab seats and he just said" these two will be leaving, theyre bitchy" and I am not straight edge but then I wondered what he would say about us. Just odd
The third location of the venerable late-night hangout for classy-casual food and drink livens South Boston with a larger space, seasonal patio and weekend brunch. – The South End's Franklin Cafe scores as a late-night staple for foodies and industry people alike. That's why those lying yonder are celebrating Franklin's Southie location. With local ingredients, an inviting bar with full menu and a stylish spot on Dot Ave, the restaurant's Modern American cuisine feeds those thirsting for big-city tastes. And just like the South End location, they're open late! Really late, with dinner served until the wee hours daily. Try the lobster bisque or short ribs, and you'll be making the trip to both locations more often. With a little older crowd here, there's less eye candy, but still a fun scene.
