Wonderful – I had my birthday party there in the spring and was really happy with the whole evening. It's BYOB (difficult to find) and the staff was warm and friendly. The food was great (just would suggest to skip the veggie side) and the price was even better. We were a large party so I knew that it would take some time. I'm not sure if service is slow when it's a normal group. I would definitely go back, definitely bring visitors, and definitely recommend to friends.

Great place for fresh AfroEuropean Dinning – The chef’s fusion of European and Senegalese provides a twist for her dishes that easily puts to shame the dishes you can get at any self styled “African Restaurant”.

The food is made to order and never pre-prepared. This might make the food seem like it takes for ever to get to you but it is well worth the wait. Yes the food might take time to come to the table but that is what makes this place authentic--the food is made to order and the food is not pre-made, the fish is fresh, the lamb is fresh which makes the cooking process longer than other restaurants. If you are looking for fast, pre-made food this is not the place for you. However, if you are looking for something different, fresh, and full of flavors, then La Galette is the place to eat. The wait is well worth it. La Galette is a breath of fresh air; we have been searching for a place where one can feel like they are getting restaurant quality food that is like homemade.

Top on our list as we have visited La Galette several times would be the

1. DB Narr (Lamb shank)…To die for!

2. Thiebou Yapp (rice mixed with lamb) we get it all the time

3. Goree Tilapia my wife’s favorite

For your drink—get the bisap and mix it with the ginger drink

You feel relaxed and at ease with the ambiance the décor provides. You cant go wrong with La Galette.

The staff—is friendly, receptive and eager to please. This is also a strong suite for this small restaurant, that you get to interact with the Chief and even personalize your order.

In addition, La Galette has a great pastry chief so don’t forget to try their desert, especially their almond croissants or any croissants made European style.

AMAZING – My boyfriend and I had been eyeing this new restaurant and a nice rainy day brought us in with curiosity.

La Galette is a hidden gem in the East of Harlem. I say hidden, b/c it's on a side street, but well worth the visit.

Our meal was incredible. For starters we had NEM SENEGALESE ROLLS (3) was a savory ecclectic mix of ground beef, shrimp, and veggies w/ wonderful dipping sauces.

As an entree I had the Chicken Curry w/ Vegetables & White rice. I literally felt like this plate came out of mom's kitchen. That's how cozy the food was. The spices in the curry were subtle and rich. The meal itself was like a nice stew. The rice was amazing with shredded carrots and corn dusted with parsley.

My boyfriend had steak kabobs. The meat was juicy and tender and it came with a delicious side of jasmine rice that has soft cooked raisins along with shredded carrots, corn & a touches of parsley. The meal portion was perfect and fulling. I wish we had room for dessert, but after this good experience, we know we will be back again.

atmosphere – So I found this place on accident. It's on 100th between Lexington and 3rd. I ordered the La Parisien...which was a pleasant surprise. The presentation was beautiful and the croissant was perfectly toasted...not burnt like some places do. It came with french fries that had rosemary sprinkled on them. I thought that was a nice touch. The place is a nicely decorated and a welcomed surprise to the area.
