AKA: ANS Air Ducts, AOS Air Ducts – Ditto! All the above same story only,( read all their reviews and know they change names alot!) I chose to have to dryer ducts cleaned too for FREE- my brand new front load dryer has a huge dent in the side now - makes loud banging noise when you turn it on and of course, no one returns calls!

Taken to the Cleaners by Austin City Air Duct Cleaner – My husband and daughter both suffer from allergies and asthma. Our daughter sees a pulmonologist due to her lung issues and she takes daily medication. I saw in a pflugerville coupon magazine an ad for what looked like a small family owned dut cleaning business.

I heard that cleaning of the ducts and filters can greatly help with asthma and allergies. So we called and asked for $55 duct cleaning that was offered on the coupon.

In less than 3 hours of work they charged us for about $3,000.

The said we had mold that was as bad as a house that was 30 years old and needed special cleaning ($1500). They said we had to get a UV light ($950) because the mold would come right back worse than before. And they said we needed all new special filters ($350).

Plus the regular charges for coming out and then they charged us for other stuff... but I still don't know what those charges are for? 3% to use our credit card and service charges etc.

Well when the filters came in my husband found they did not fit, when he was trying to install the filters he found that the UV light was broken and the "professional installation" was a UV light bolted onto HVAC with a flimsy extension cord.

We called with no response for days. We started looking them up on line to find out that they have 1 star ratings and an F with the better business bureau. We had to threaten to stop payment to get them to respond to us but came to no resolution.

We called their direct supplier of the UV light and filters to find out that the $350 filters cost 50$ total and the 950 UV light cost 89$. Then we had other reputable people come in to look at the ducts and they said they were not cleaned properly and even with the mold being bad it would cost aout 500$ tops. We also called and got pricing from several other reputable companies and found that they had similar pricing.

After all our research we found that that lovely ad is not a small local family owned business either.

Watch out... tooo many people have been scammed by this company and more continue to be scammed... we found quite a lot of feedback on their ratings with similar complaints.

I would hate for these people to take advantage of other families the way they hurt ours.

DO NOT USE!!!! – Wish - wish - I had read these reviews before having these people come to my home. If I could rate them less then 1 star I would. They were extremely pushy and rude trying to up sell some UV treatment for our "very moldy" furnace - no mold was found on an inspection just a couple of months ago and the mold they were so insistent on seemed to be just dust. Tried to force my husband to buy an $80 air filter - the exact one you can get from Home Depot for $15! Immediately felt like they had scoped out our home- we instinctively went looking for anything of value you might have left out and feel as though if we were robbed in the next week or so it would be one of them! Really sketchy and rude!

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH AUSTIN CITY AI R DUCTS – My bad for not checking reviews on Austin City Air Ducts before allowing these people into my home. Their ad came in a Valpak mailer, which I have since learned does NOT screen companies. The workers knocked plaster off my ceiling, charged me $119 for a "treatment" which did nothing, refused to let me see what was in the container they sprayed into the furnace, left blood on a wall from a cut hand, and ripped up my lawn backing out of the drive. I have written and called to no avail.

Lesson learned - STAY AWAY FROM AUSTIN CITY AIR DUCTS!

This company has a multitude of way to rip you off! – After the first fiasco I've tried unsuccessfully to contact this company for over two weeks. The person with whom I spoke "Ava" says that the phone "must be working incorrectly" because it forwards all the calls directly to voice mail. If you knew what, wouldn't you do something since October 2009 to fix that issue? Short story, the Ultraviolet Light they installed in my furnace litterally fell out of the furnace onto the floor and broke the ultraviolet bulb. This is a $489 unit we are talking about here. After two more weeks of trying to contact them and leaving multiple voice mail messages per day they made arrangements to come last Thursday 1-28-10 at 4:30 and fix it, My wife left her job early and got there at 3:30 and no one ever showed up. I called on Friday and after my third voice message Ava called me back and rescheduled for Wednesday 2-3-10 at 4:00. She said she would call me at 3:00 to confirm. At 3:15 I called her and of course left a voice mail, at 4:00 I called her and of course left a voice mail, at 4:30 I called her and left a voice mail. She did call back and say the technician was behind and would be there soon. At 5:00 the technician called me to say he would be about another hour (6:00) remember I took of work at 3:00 to be there at 4:00 when they got there. At 6:30 I received a text message from Ava saying the technician was behind schedule and was 25 miles away and would call me when he was finished on his current job. Want to guess if anyone ever called back or ever showed up? In case you aren't sure by now the answer is NO! These people a liars from top to bottom. You can't believe one single thing they tell you but if you call for initial service and your luck enought to get ahold of them they will probably rush right over, just hope and pray you never need them for service work again, after they have your money!

What A JOKE Of A Company....BAD JOKE – OMG why didn't I read these reviews before I had them out to clean my chimney. My gut reaction when they first came to my door and said we are here to clean your air ducts...was to cancel right then and there since they were coming to clean my chimney.

This was the worst experience ever with a supposedly professional company to clean or repair something, etc. Not only was my chimney and fireplace not cleaned but it was dirtier than when they first came. I was told they would put something up to keep the soot or whatever from getting all over my house...well the fool opened the chimney without any protection and ash dust went EVERYWHERE. My hearth is FILTHY, my whole house has soot all over it and now I've got to clean everything. My floors were so dirty that the bottom of my feet were black.

I called the office manager and he said they should have covered it up and he would check into it by calling the field supervisor and call us right back ...NEVER HAPPENED... DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING. EVER!!!!! You will be better off not having anything cleaned than using them. If I could have given them a zero instead of a one star rating I would have....they don't even deserve a one star rating they are so bad. They should be banned from ever putting specials in print.

Now to clean up the horrible mess they left behind.

Please, please don't use this company.

Very rude, unprofessional, greedy company – I called this company to come look at my air ducts for an 'estimate.' For this estimate, two men came into my house on a Saturday morning and immediately started bringing in large vacuums, tools and equipment. The Valpak discount coupon I received in the mail said that a whole house air duct cleaning package was $70. What they don't tell you (until after they've taken each vent apart in your house) is that they charge an extra approximately $180 to clean the fan blades in the A/C unit, which he said must be done before the air ducts can be cleaned or else the air duct cleaning is a waste. So, really the cost is $180 + $70! When I said I didn't want to pay that, he let the other worker know that he needed to wrap up and they seemed to grudgingly leave my house. In addition, my husband later emptied our recycling and found that the workers had dumped their trash into our bin and filled it up! The workers were not professional at all and they didn't leave my house the way they found it. I have been aching to write this review to let others know they are a scam and they are a very unprofessional waste of time. Please do not use this company.

Unprofessional and careless! – Please don't consider bringing this company into your home! I just paid for brand new floors in my house and the tech guys wrecklessly took a heavy industrial vacuum up my stairs and DAMAGED them when they smacked it into the top of the stair. They then denied they did it!!!!!!!!!! I understand mistakes happen but they denied it, REFUSED to pay for damages and left without apologizing or getting the job done. All this after they showed up 3 hrs late!! No joke.

The manager was extremely unsympathetic and rude and didn't cooperate with me at all. While trying to explain the situation he hung up on me. It's repulsive that a company like this is allowed to stay in business!!!
