Great service- don't be fooled by other ratings – I been to Banzai many times and I don't understand why few ratings are raging about bad service- I been there while they were busy and I been there when they weren't so busy- and unlike the other ratings, I was always treated well. The waitress was super sweet and I've always had a great food and great service. I'm definitely going back again for sure. =)

banzai sushi review – Very good restaurant with great service. The sushi was very fresh and the miso soup was excellent. The only downside were the California rolls - they were not the best we've ever had. Overall very good restaurant and we'll plan on a return visit

Must try sushi place in theatre district – I went here for lunch because it was walking distance from my work. The food was excellent and the service was great. I'm going to take my fiance back here for dinner. If you work near the theatre district, it's a must try place for lunch. Reasonable prices.

Worst Service Ever – It is such a shame this place had such terrible service because it was very classy looking restaurant. First of all, we were seated and waited about 15 minutes before we even got our water. I am a very patient person, but this seemed a little absurd. Eventually we had to ask someone where our waitress was because we had seen her around, but she had not come by since dropping our water off. Next we ordered our food, simple enough, we checked what we wanted on a piece of paper. Once we got our water we went ahead and gave her the order slip and ordered two beers, meanwhile, on three different occasions, someone came by and asked if we ordered something and began to set it down on our table, we were asked if we ordered the dragon roll twice, and a few other sushi items- which we had not. By now I had expected to get my appetizer, but instead after waiting we got only half our items ordered and no appetizer. Our waitress had put the complete wrong order in (she was terrible), even though it was on a piece of paper, checked off - how hard is that? The table behind us got really upset and decided to leave after raising his voice to where everyone could hear his disappointment. There were people walking up to the front to close their own checks since it was taking so long, people were getting the wrong orders over and over, we never got the rolls we ordered (again, they were checked off) and duplicate orders were brought to us by two different people (the second lady we had was great). The table to our left didn't get the rolls they ordered either, but the waitress brought them the check without them even having finished. Just terrible terrible customer service. I have never written a review before, all I can say is this place is going to fail if management does not correct their extreme set of issues- food was good service was awful and you can't make it if your service is that bad. It looked like everyone that night was very dissatisfied with the service.

My deepest apologies for the terrible service rendered that evening. I assure you that we are quickly working to rectify the problem at hand. I am not writing this to provide anyone with an extensive list of excuses but to ask you to give Banzai another try. We are still a growing restaurant having been in business for 2 months now and diligently adjusting to the theater crowd. I am confident to say that your next visit will be of no disappointment.

Not ready for Prime Time – I love Sushi and was excited to try this place, but clearly they aren't ready for prime time. We went before a show and were seated in the lounge because there wasn't room in the dining room. We were assured there would be waitstaff in the lounge. After we sat, several other tables filled up. 5 mins later still no staff. Overall we waited 45+ mins with no food- even our appetizer. All but one table left without their meals, some before ordering. No comment on the food- never got a change to try it.

Most fresh and outstanding quality sushi you can find in town – For the freshness & quality, Banzai rates number one on my list & is the default location for my weekly sushi addiction. I had just started going there after they changed ownership (it used to be Sake lounge), & it cannot be compared to any other places when it comes to freshness and quality of sushi. I can tell the freshness of nigiri and sashimi by its taste, texture, and sight- and Banzai gives me the satisfaction of all. Not only that, the quality and the taste of rolls is exceptional, that it melts in your mouth. Some restaurants may taste good but staff may be snobby and arrogant. At Banzai, they are very polite & friendly, adding the positive ambiance to already hip decoration of the restaurant. I definitely recommend Banzai to any sushi lovers, because it?s really rare to find such freshness and outstanding quality in a Japanese Cuisine here in Houston.
